New jazzy blues tune - please listen

Thanks man. That's good - evocative is what I was going for. I too am just really impressed with the modelling in Logic. The drums are an Apple Loops sample - part of what came with Logic Pro.

New jazzy blues tune - please listen

Hey thanks a lot folks. Ido - the guitar is recorded direct into the Presonus Firepod - and 8 pre firewire/ soundcard. I just bought this. Then I slapped Logic's GuitarAmp Pro on there (amp modelling plug in) - I think just a "clean tube amp" on the American setting. No further processing at...

New jazzy blues tune - please listen

http://www.gunnar.ca/aaron1.htm I did it entirely in Logic Pro on my new Mac Pro. The guitars are all recorded direct using the GuitarAmp Pro plug in. The bass is straight in using the Bass plug in. The B3 is a Logic plug as well. What do you think? Cheers

Upgrading to a Mac Pro - what soundcard?

So it looks like the 8pre and the Firepod are about the same price. I can't find much on the 8pre, but at Harmony Central the reviews of the Firepod are really mixed. Some guys have had a lot of trouble with them (red light of doom, cracking and popping, overheating, just dying). The 8pre has...

Recording a live band - help!

The cool thing is that it'll be at a jam that this band hosts - and over the course of a month (4 jams) so yes - I can use the first jam to test things out. But I'd like to go in a little prepared. One tricky thing is that the levels go up up up thoughout the course of the show. By the end of...

Recording a live band - help!

I have been approached to record a band over a month's time. It consists of 2 guitars, 2 vox, sax, bass and drums. I am getting a Mac Pro this week and a new sound card/ pre amp - I was looking at the Firepod which is 8 in 8 out and has 8 pre's. This would be pushing it with that many...

Upgrading to a Mac Pro - what soundcard?

I just need the 1 headphone jack - so that's cool. So I can get rid of my mixer. Cool! I like mixing inside Logic.

Upgrading to a Mac Pro - what soundcard?

About $500 to $600. I want firewire for sure. Mic pre's would be nice. I have a mixer - Mackie 1202. The FirePod sounds good...

Upgrading to a Mac Pro - what soundcard?

I want to be able to record a live band so I need 8 to 10 ins. It also needs to fit into the new Macs (PCI Express slots). I was looking at the MOTU Ultralite. Any suggestions from you guys?

    any mesa users???

A triple rec is overkill. You'll never need that much volume. I have a single rectifier (Rectoverb head) and it's fucking loud.

    Strats Vs Les Pauls

I used to play Strats - maybe owned 10 or so of them. Always sold them. Got my first Les Paul - game over. Now I have a Custom 54 reissue LP and a Studio LP. I'll never get another Strat. I would like a Tele though.
