    I Believe It's True

Really nicely done...there's a lot of stereo separation going on for the acoustic guitars which i like....Byrds esqe. Feels pretty authentically recorded. Good voice..i'd bring it up a notch. Mark

Song - Kicking out the days

Thanks for the listen...you're right, I'll have a look at the eq on the bass and ease off the booming note a little. Do you mean the picked bits or strummed rhythm part? Cheers Mark

Song - Kicking out the days

Evening First outing in over a year for me due to a hand injury. This is a song i'd been working on before the injury...I'd kind of abandoned it ages ago but then thought it might be a useful way to get used to recording again...so it got a new vocal melody and lyric and is right here...

    Effects on one section

Thanks for all the examples...this is probably as simple as I need it...seems to be same method as using volume envelopes. Perfect ?

    Effects on one section

Hi Its been a year since I did any recording after a hand injury so trying to remember half the stuff on reaper I never learnt properly in the first place ?...one of which is applying an effect to just one portion of the song ...a rejig of my memory would be helpful. Cheers Mark

    How's the mix?

I like the song and everything has a nice balance to it. Drums sound a little harsh but not to the detriment of the song. Lack of stereo depth on the acoustic didn't bother me...i liked the tone and your voice sits real nice. Mark

    New song Marry Go Round

Cool song, well recorded. There are some passages where the drum seems way up front...a particular bit is 1.12....repeats a few times but that beat is intrusive. Really good aside... Mark

    Acoustic guitar.

Thanks for the info fellas. I have tried a few of those techniques...my fall back is generally dbl tracking if there's a full band set up. For lower key acoustic tracks I generally try and play a slightly different part like MJB and Gtoboy. Talisman Rich, I have an NT1-a but not given it a...

    Acoustic guitar.

Hi I feel that I'm fairly competent at getting an acoustic guitar to sit well in a full band set up mix as backing, however I often shy away from leaving a track raw ( that I'd prefer raw) because I feel I can't get an acoustic to sound strong enough on its own with minimal backing. I usually...

New Indie Rock song - Dusted

I spent an hour or so re-doing the vocals on this. Whilst much of the original takes remain, i've inserted takes on some of the rougher parts and also added bits where the retake came out better. I've cut the Vox a bit higher in the mix and added some harmonies behind...hopefully sounding...

    A little help...

Everything sounds nicely balanced...I listened on basic ear plugs. A jaunty little number...you a ween fan by any chance!? I enjoyed it. Mark

New Indie Rock song - Dusted

Thanks Famous Beagle...Absolutely no issues with the criticism. It all helps when you've heard a song played back 200 odd times...at least. I think you just stop hearing stuff! Thanks for having another listen.

New Indie Rock song - Dusted

I've now tidied this up and mastered it, hopefully removing the harsh mid lows and giving everything a bit of space. Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers, Mark Dusted Master V1 by Mountain Telegraphs | Free Listening on SoundCloud

    Drinking Song

I like your voice and melodies again...the rattles and slightly shakey guitar add to the charm of it imo. Drum doesn't work too well and whilst there's no disguising a drum machine on an acoustic track.. i'd stick some reverb on it and perhaps play around with some other effects to give it a bit...
