    MXL v67g & AKG 414- A blind test

And my point was that MXL's are real mics. There's nothing fake about them. They may be cheap but they hold their own against mics costing more. I've had Blue mics, Groove Tubes and Shure condensers and the MXL's I have were just as good as any of them. They also aren't trying to imitate...

the new Epi Valve Junior Combo has 4/8/16 Ohm speaker-outs

3 watts won't be that much more quiet than 5. Not enough to make a difference anyway.

    MXL v67g & AKG 414- A blind test

What do you mean by fake and original? This wasn't a comparison of an original mic and a copy of that. It was a comparison between two different microphones. Neither of which are "fake", they both pass sound.

    It's Bush's fault.:D

    Multiband Compression

Exactly, and I'd have to say I really enjoy using multibands. I use to hate them before I really understood compression but now I really like the results I get using them.

    Presonus Gear (Firestudio, Fader, MSR)

It's posted somewhere in the dragon cave. I'm pretty sure dragon said he didn't want any other related forums mentioned anymore.

How would you record a drum kit with this gear?

You dont need a D6 to get a good Kick sound. Just about any mic eq'd and placed properly can get you a good kick drum sound. Drumagog however is a great recommendation.

    Multiband Compression

Seriously dude, I live about 30 minutes away from you and it sounds like you need a lot of help understanding some of the more simple things about recording. I'm no top notch expert but I do some pretty decent sounding stuff and know how to get things loud. If you're ever interested you can...

    Presonus Gear (Firestudio, Fader, MSR)

Well I could give you an address to another forum where several people have talked about the unit, including guys that work for Presonus, but apparently now we aren't allowed to mention any other forums so...sorry can't help ya.

    Blonde sings into microphone

Seriously, this is like the 15th time this video has been posted since last spring.

    Orianthi

She was a big hit(or miss depending who you ask)over at gearslutz several months ago. Most thought she was good looking but boring as hell. I personally couldn't get passed the good looking part and really didn't care to. She's hot and plays a cool instrument and that's good enough for me.

Line 6: Spider Valve or Flextone?

Here's where we'll have to disagree. Line 6's aren't even really in the same ballbark as the amps they emulate. I've worked with Line 6's and I've worked with most of the amps they emulate and there is a huge difference. I've worked with so many kids who had the same mentality you do, and all...

Line 6: Spider Valve or Flextone?

Hey, if you think line 6's put out "sick" tones then so be it and by all means buy line 6. Just one example of what I'd rather have though is a Marshall dsl40 1x12 combo and a couple effects pedals. Should be able to get it all for what a spider valve costs. However it doesn't seem you really...

    Need Recording Equipment Advice

How about you asking this question somewhere other than the guitar forum. Just a thought, but you might not get a ton of replies with that question in this forum section.

    buckethead

Buckethead was supposed to be in the new GnR lineup. I guess he quickly figured out Axel was a major douche and split. And yeah you're a tad late to the party, he's been around for a while now.

Line 6: Spider Valve or Flextone?

Find a used flextone and save some money. The spider valve is crap. I've used one extensively and tried like hell to get a great or even really good tone out of it and had no luck. Never used the flextone but I can't imagine it sounds much worse. BTW, there are several better sounding amps...

Marshall MG100HDFX/MG412 Slant Cab Half Stack Package

I agree, in the short time I worked at GC I saw several come back. But I did have the chance to record one and it sounded like a Recto, and was just as hard to dial in as one.

Marshall MG100HDFX/MG412 Slant Cab Half Stack Package

You're right, combos work just fine for most people. Yeah it's more rock star to have a half stack but there's plenty of volume to be had with a single 12" combo.

Marshall MG100HDFX/MG412 Slant Cab Half Stack Package

Thank you, this is what I'm talking about. Not to mention I've had two friends use these MG heads and both had problems with either the volume dropping out or getting very low during extended periods of play. Not that things like that can't happen to a good tube amp(I've witnessed a Vox going...

Marshall MG100HDFX/MG412 Slant Cab Half Stack Package

Get a peavey valveking, and a cheap cab. All can be had for around 700 and you'll have genuine tubes and some decent tone to start with. You'll get into learning to take care of tube amps and your tone will be much better off than with an mg marshall.
