Hello! I'm working on the mixes of my band's COVID album and I'm struggling to get the low end right

Personally, I think too much emphasis is being put on your room and your monitoring situation. I think it's possibly your technique that needs addressed first. People get great bass response mixing on headphones, soundbars, and in all kinds of inadequate monitoring situations. Now, don't crucify...

    Is this ready for mastering?

Sounds more like Sublime than Dave Matthews Band.. Sounds great, but I keep waiting for something added to drop in with more energy.. some horns or some overdrive guitar.. not throughout the whole thing.. I really like it how it is.. but just on the chorus or for a solo.. part of one of the...

New Rap/HipHop Mr. ROUSH - "EVOLON"

Antidote... Thanks very much! You know I've spent over 12 years now recording and mixing vocals.. A few of the most important things I have learned are; 1. Source sound is hugely important. Optimizing your vocal chain to sound its best will gain you a lot of ground. Effects added after the fact...

Rosetta users / New user here with some questions.

Nobody has any input? I will add that upon further examination I do see that the SRC menu in the Pro Tools dialogue does seem to reference the SRC rates from the rosetta, but I still don't know.. I feel like the front panel would need to correspond with the SRC settings in PT.. any help would be...

    Mixing Live Performances

I don't do a lot of live mixing stuff, but my sister is in a successful cover band and they record all of their performances.. my brother-in-law consults with me sometimes on mixing.. without doing some mixing, it's not as enjoyable to listen to most of the time.. I think the trick is to mix...

Rosetta users / New user here with some questions.

I'm interested in taking advantage of Rosetta's sample rate conversion feature. I use the Rosetta with a 003 and Pro Tools. Having never used an external ADC/DAC device, I'm at quite a loss here. Can I accomplish this by simply changing the sample rate and bit rate on the front panel of the...

    How to properly Use Busses.

Actually, a bus used for routing audio signals is not unlike the yellow bus on wheels.. a bus in the audio world is simply a tool to get signals together and drop them off somewhere else either all together or at different places.. yep.. just like the yellow one does... something I see here in...

    Drum machine or sampler?

Now a days, most "drum machines" and "samplers" are the same thing.. I'll tell you two very cost effective options as compared to let's say an MPC... 1.. Korg PadKontrol ... this is ultimately a drum pad controller, that when used with your computer, acts as a drum machine and can be set up with...

    Nowshi - "Refuse to Lose"

Hey, thanks a lot!! Yes it was recorded in my home studio. Well.. after a decade and about 40k later.. I have accumulated some higher end stuff, but I know some guys who spend that much on one EQ so it all depends I suppose.. the vox were recorded with a u87 into a macbook pro through an ISA220...

gettin it off the chest.. "Who is U?" by: NOWSHI

http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/s...?play_now=true "Who is U" bit more explicit with this material than usual but I had to get it off my chest so it's mostly about the message.. on the musical side, you might like the sample I used from "Bitwannes Beek" by "Warda".. might be familiar with...

Does anyone know the Korg Triton?

If I understand you right then you can sequence midi in PT and it plays your triton when you play that midi sequence from withing PT? If so then the hard part is over.. all you have to do is set the korg as the input to an audio track then arm it to record... press record.. it will print...

Does anyone know the Korg Triton?

I have a Triton.. however.. I have abandoned the use of the on board sequencing all together.. you're better off running midi cables back to the triton.. and then just sequence the midi in PT or FL whatever.. you can use the sequencer within the daw to control the triton like a synth module...

    Audio Suite vs RTAS

Alright.. makes sense. Thanks for the feedback. But.. who uses audio suite and who doesn't? For those that use them.. for what applications have you found them to be particularly useful? Obvious reasons aside please.. such as destructive editing and saving cpu...
