I do use cubase but basically I just record vocals with it. I have never delved into the midi side of things.

Read the Waves manuals...They are the best manuals around..They really helped me out...As for what is fun to use. just start experimenting. Thats the fun. You don't like it hit undo and start again. You look like you have enough plugs and such to have some fun.. Geoff

Hi there, I read somewhere that its best to use 3 harddrives while recording music. But I forget where I read this. I know one harddrive to install and run the apps. Store on the 2nd but what is the third for?? Anyone know what I am talking about cause I am starting to doubt myself. Geoff

I agree with LB, DJ Krush has beautifully crafted music. Mix your shit like that and you will have a very very nice sound.

I am curious how others record them. I know we just plug the tables and mixer into the soundcard and away we go. Then I run the .wav thru a compressor and compress it a little bit. But I was curious how others go about their business. Geoff

I find its moving the goddamn records thats the worst. Moving gives me an excuse to clean up my mess of cables. I move every year it seems...I feel your pain aswell...Just remember to start drinking after your set-up is done cause trying to figuire out what the hell is wrong just plain hurts...

My DJ has used an MPC, and currently uses Nuendo and FL Studio. The beats definitely have a different flavour when he uses the different tools but thats all they are. Different means to an end. I would grab what you can afford. Expand as you go. The more ways you learn to get to your end...

Try a different mic if you can, cause my 3000b even with the de-esser has a tendency to make the highs quite harsh. And its way worse the closer you get to the mic..Something about that mic

I just hit the monitor button in nuendo and it routes my mic ins to my headphones. My set-up is close to yours...I can hear everything that way and just mute my 1/2 outs and the 3/4 goes to my mixer which my headphones are plugged into. So I think thats what you where lookin for. The problem...
