The mixing sounds great to me. In a few spots the vocals were a little off and sometimes I felt they had a little too much reverb. However the reverb sounded good through 90% of the song. I thought it was mixed really well.
The drums I programmed as 1 track, so I can't eq the kick, snare, etc. I can only eq the whole kit, which isn't as good. I'd like to make the kick a little more clicky, but I can't without messing up the rest of the drum kit.
I think you're right about the main tone. I usually like to cut my treble down to get a smoother tone. I used a really bright guitar, so I thought I'd cut a little more, but I think I went a little too far. I'll either redo it, or if I get too lazy just try to eq it.
I haven't used garage band, so I don't know exactly what it can or can't do. A lowpass might help, but I think a lot of it is from the sound source. What are you using to record the guitars? IMO it's best to try to get a good signal from that start because trying to tweak it afterwords is hard...
The guitars still aren't as sweet as I'd like, but they are much better than before. That first guitar that comes in with lots of reverb is still a little harsh, but the drums and overall mix sounds twice as good. I'd still try to boost the rhythm gtrs more and just use eq to cut a hole for the...
The concept is good. The low tuned clean guitar(bass maybe) sounds good, but the distorted tones need some work. It sounds like you're using a digital box direct into you're computer. Am I right? I'd either rerecord the guitars with a different amp model with the highs rolled down or try to eq...
This is an instrumental latin fusion song. I know it sounds bad already, but please give it a listen. I'm thinking of redoing some of the guitar parts. At first I wanted a really screaming guitar to play the melody, but after I couldn't get a good sound that way, I went the opposite direction...
Much better. There are still a few spots where the vocal is getting downed out. The skip part sounds better, but still a little weird. I'd add a big drum hit with some lots of reverb at the start of the bar just to make the parts gel together. You want the listener to perk their ears up and...
Thank you. I tried to adjust the levels of that song, but unfortunately the way I recorded it didn't leave me much wiggle room to tweak things. I'd like to improve the sound more, but I don't think I can do too much more. Thanks for the compliments on the playing. If you have anymore songs...
Sounds really god except it's a little hard to hear the vocals. Bump them up a little. I'd cut out some frequencies from the other instruments to make room for the vocals and cut down the pumping a little bit. I like the pumping, but it's just too much.
At 1:30 it sounds like it's skipped or...
Overall I think it sounds good. It has a really nice melody and the recording sounds clean and balanced for the most part(I'd take a little reverb off those drums though). Overall I think the biggest problem is the arrangement. You have a great melody with great tones and nice playing, but your...
Sound good to me. The music I make is somewhat similar. Sounds fine to me. The mixing/tones is pretty 80's but I think it fits with the market your client is after. It sounds rocking, but it isn't too distracting. Great job.
Its good, but IMO its not as strong as the other stuff you've put on here. I liked that little break in the middle. I wish you developed that a little more.
Doesn't sound too bad, overall. Is the bass drum panned to one side? The only other thing is the string arrangment sounds weird at certain points, it gets thick and thin. The number of notes seem to be changing or something.
Sounds pretty good except I'd redo the vocal. Your singer sounds good, but a few of the notes don't quite sound right. The fact that he can actually sing makes it more noticeable when sometime is a little off. Also the vocals have a little too much reverb on them. I'd lower it maybe 10 to 25%...
Not really my type of music, but it sounds good. The tones sounded pretty good and nothing was dominating the mix. The only thing I would suggest is adding another guitar/keyboard track and some backing vocals. The song sounds a little sparse, but overall it sounds good.
