Two songs from my band, hopefully part of an EP

I'm not an expert in this type of pop punk, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but you mix is mid range heavy. The low end isn't so bad, but it's not what I'd expect from a rocking tune like this. The high end seems muffled on all the drums. IMO this makes the mix seem weak. Maybe that's...

    Lost

Sounds good except there's no bass. It's like there is a HPF set at 200hz over the mix. Turn down whatever filter you're using on the bass and turn the bass up a lot. I'd even add more bass to the guitars. It's really light on the bass.

My second track, for a friend..

The Piano needs more treble and the strings need to either need to get in or stay out. Once the string come in keep them in there. The track seems kind of monotonous, so I'd try to do a slow build with the song. Start with the piano and then keep adding instruments and have them play something...

New song, could do with your ears!

Sounded good, but the vocal is a little dark and the strings have a little too much reverb. It is a really nice arrangement.

    My first demo

Sounds really polished. Everything sounds pretty and the mix isn't muddy. The only thing is the bass comming in during the chorus is a little too abrupt, it sounds like someone changed station on a radio dial. However honestly it sounds really good.

Two New Songs: "Down" and "Take Me Away"

On Take me away quantize the drums. There are parts where they're out of rhythm. I seems like a nice song, but the drums need to be fixed first, then work on the balance of everything else.

    Looking for feedback

The mix sounds ok, but the arrangement sounds strange. It's like the song is hollow. The aren't enough mids. There doesn't seem to be any doubling of the vocals and no synths, piano, etc to fill out the mids. The mid scooped guitars aren't helping either. I think adding a synth, vocal harmonies...

thoughts on this rough draft I'm starting?

I think it sounds ok, but like others said the insturments kind of seem to be in the background and aren't blended well with the vocal. I'd cut that guitar too. It sounds fizzy, thin and out of place. The line it's playing sounds good, but use a synth instead. I think this could turn into a...

Please Review this tune, "Tara's Rain"

Sounds pretty good except the drum kit cymbals sound off. They sound fake. Maybe try using a different kit, or record the drums to midi and then load in samples to play the parts. The lead guitar is clipping in a few parts also. I like the guitar tone, but there is something a little off with...

    Instrumental called "blue"

Sounds alright. The clean guitars are a little lifeless, but not too bad. I'd turn up the drums more, they're a little soft. At first I thought the lead guitar was a little harsh, but on 2nd listening I think it's ok. What did you record with. The cleans sound like a digital modeler or me, but...

    mixing help please, instrumental song

Sounds good to me. I agree that there isn't much bass, but that could be what you're going for. The mix sounds fine to me. Cool song, although it is a little long.

NOOB In Need Of Some Help!!

The vocals sound ok, but your drums are too low. Turn up the drums and the bass. Then use parallel compression on them to get them punchy. I'd also double some of the important words during the verses. Not every word, but the best lines and the punches.

Metal Song - WIP - Please Listen

I don't really have much criticism. I don't listen to metal too often, but I generally know how it's supposed to sound and your track sounds metal to me. Great guitar sound, especially considering it's a amp modeler, good amount of bass and a nice drum sound. Nice and punchy too, but still...

I've never used reaper, so I can't really walk you through it. Here is an explanation Parallel Compression Explained - YouTube. Basically it makes things sound louder, punchier without increasing the overall volume too much. Like any technique don't over do it. Another thing I noticed, are you...

    Little Boat

Sounds pretty good except for 2 things I noticed. It seems unbalanced. There seems to be a lot of stuff on the right side, but not the left. Maybe it's just me. Also the mix doesn't seem to be filling up the frequency space. All the instruments sound too small. The other thing I heard was a lack...

    Latin instrumental

@dainbramage - Thanks for the advice. I'll rerecord the melody if I have time and I'll try to mix it a little brighter overall. @jasgav - Thank you for the comments. I actually envisioned it as a latinish fusion piece, but I thought latin jazz fusion instrumental wasn't a good title for a...

still need help for those willing

I'd try to get the guitars to fill up more space. There is a big hole in the audio spectrum since there is no bass there. Try to get the guitars to fill that space. Try boosting the bass and the mids on the guitars. Have you tried to LA compression to get the drums to hit harder. Also, it seems...

    Any advice for this mix?

Sounds fine to me. The only thing I really noticed is the cymbals sound a little weak and dull. That's not a big deal though. Sounds fairly professional to me.

Need Critquing Of New Instrumental Ballad

Try using an amp model with lower gain and then using a tubescreamer(or another overdrive pedal) to boost it. A tubescreamer will give you a more focused tone that will cut through the mix without getting harsh. You might also try using delay instead of reverb on those leads. Really, I've found...
