Well, the cited shockmount is declared to be compatible with the AKG Perception 820 tube microphone.
Nevertheless, the 820 is more regular in shape than the smaller brothers (including the 120), I mean it's cylindric almost until the bottom, while the other become thinner from the half of the...
Here is the auction I got the shockmounts from:
eBay Italia - Aste online e shopping a prezzo fisso
It actually links to the manufacturer's website where a compatibile mount should be this:

Hope this helps.
Thank you. Right now I have the chance to get a (barely) uses Focusrite Octopre MK II Dynamic for 330 euros (it comes new for 590), which has 8 pres on board. I am wondering if something like The Audient Mico (found for 450 euros, two channels) or the Golden Age Project Pre73 (299 per channel)...
Nope, the 120 is a LDC in the style of its bigger brothers 220, 420, etc. These mikes sport a screw attack at the bottom, to which the mount is screwed. I don't know if some spring-clip universal mount would fit.
Mr Baldy, I recently got myself a couple of them on eBay: since I don't know if...
I don't want something else, I want something more. ;)
I mean, my idea is to add some SDC to my equipment, so that if I need to specifically mike some instruments that plays along with the choir, I can do that.
Hi everybody,
I am trying to figure out what kind of SDC I could buy for occasional choir recording.
I am thinking of some budget stuff, but would like the quality to be at least acceptable, with good frequency response and good reliability.
Stated that I already own a matched pair of Oktava...
You're right, I learned that ADAT pres cannot connect directly to the pc. At this point, as you say, it's a matter of converters. And of money: after all, I can guess that if a 8 channels pre with A/D conversion costs less than a 2 channel pre from another manufacurer, the latter should be a bit...
Thank you for your reply. I know it's a matter of taste and needs. ;)
Generally speaking, I was wondering if - given that I already have an audio interface, albeit a small one - it's better to get more pres or another interface with pres which is capable of ADAT-connection to the first one. I...
Hi all,
For my occasional concert recordings I bought a Fireface 400 some time ago, thinking that two pres were enough for plain stereo recordings. Then I added a DAV BG-1 stereo pre to the equipment, to ensure a couple more channels to be managed.
Now I am thinking of increasing the simultanous...
You guys made me really curious about experimenting the M/S technique.
If I am not mistaken, I understood that such a technique isn't well suited for live recording, due to the fact that the figure of eight mic can pick a lot of room noise. Is it correct? I'd like to experiment the M/S with my...
Hi everybody, going on in my search for a nice LDC (male voice, some acoustic instrument), I hadn't considered any tube mike (although I do love tubes in my hi-fi setup) mostly because of the price.
Given that I don't want to spend many hundreds of euros since I use the equipment quite...
First of all, sorry because I quoted my message instead of yours. ;)
Then: yes, I still have both M3's and 012's, and plan to use them for my ensemble live recording.
What do you exactly mean with the SE2200A being OK right out of the starters gate? ;)
I understand that body ring is an issue...
Thank you for replying, Moresound.
I used to live record my vocal group using a pair of Rode M3 and a pair of MK012 (unmodified), in XY or ORTF mode. I have learned that for live ensemble recording SDC are more suited.
Nevertheless, I could happen to solo record my voice/me playing my guitar, or...
Hi everybody again,
I know this thread will call for "blame on you" posts (Moresound?) ;), but I am still in the process of choosing some LDC for male (baritone-bass) voice and acoustic instruments recording, together with some live performance catching (small vocal group).
I have a Fireface 400...
Hi everybody,
I am currently thinking about getting myself a budget LDC for occasional recording of male vocal (myself, baritone-bass), some acoustic instrument and my small (15 people) vocal group.
I put my eyes on the SE2200A (which one can get at interesting price now that it's discontinued)...
As someone stated, an XLR microphone could also work without phantom power, provided that the mike can be powered differently.
Rode M3 and AKG C1000 have a dual power option: either phantom power thorugh the XLR cable (if the mike pre provides it), or a 9V square battery. You might consider this...
Thank you very much.
I used to have a couple of AKG Perception 420 multi pattern LDC, but only used the omni mode once, and was disappointed with respect to what I was recording. I see that cardioids capture some ambience anyway, and since I don't need to record keeping the mike close to the...
