    John Entwistle R.I.P

I picked up a Who DVD Sunday. The Who (and special guests) at the Royal Albert Hall (recorded 2000). Simply amazing. Theres a bass solo section in 5:15, complete with a headstock mounted mini-cam. A Great DVD, worth the price, IMO. Queue

oh yeah... If you topped out... RAID "Striping" would help. PCI controllers can do this, but you're risking creating a bottleneck on the PCI bus. Queue

    Shopping for audio hard drive

hey Kyle! Howzit going? (Thought I recognized the "pearldiver" nick from over at CC...) You should be able to lay down 4 tracks no problemo. My brother tracks 12 channels at once on an ATA66 machine with a PIII 650. (Albeit 16/44.1) Queue

    Mic as Sound Level Meter?

Hey Andres, Yes, I do have phantom power, and I figured the ECM8000 was the best choice for this task. I have a tone generator program that I can probably use to aid in calibration. Hopefully one of our more knowledgeable members will chime in and let me know if this is an exercise in futility...

    Mic as Sound Level Meter?

So, my Rat Shack meter only goes down to ~50dBA. If I'm working on reducing the noise my PC makes, I'd like to be able to measure my progress. Can I somehow calibrate my recording levels and use a microphone as a sound level meter? Recording Rig: Aardvark DP 24/96 preamp & A/D/A Mics...

longsoughtfor, thanks for the link. I'll be sure to take some pics so you can add my project. vox (joe), I'm in a loft above my bedroom, in a small townhouse, so the 'other side of the wall' approach doesn't work for me. Plus, I do a lot of tech work on the things, and need to have the drives...

    Building an IsoBox for PCs

I've decided for my next project, I'm going to try to build the equivalent of an IsoRaxx box to house my 2 PCs. I'd like to start with a pre-built cabinet, build another inside it, add ventilation and a door. I've been searching about, but haven't found any websites/tutorials that take this...

Anybody want a AGP 4x Radeon VE Dual Head Video Card?

Brad, Was that a REAL ATI card or a "Powered by ATI" card? I have a dual head ATI VE that is actually some sort of OEM knockoff thingy.... Works fine in XP. I had to use what ATI called "Reference Drivers", but it works like a champ. Queue
