I am in the market for my first set of monitors. Is there currently a good place to get the wharfedale's online? Since my budget is only able to allow 300 or so dollars they sound like the best option. Any help on where to purchase would be appreciated.
I am looking for a midi controller. Preferably something with 61 keys or more but willing to go as low as 49. If you have something you need to get rid of or are willing to sell PM with the price.
Thanks all,
Alex
Also, if anyone has a 4 output or more headphone amp I suppose I could take that...
Pick up Home Recording for Dummies...when I was figuring out how to do recording it did a good job of getting me familiar with the basics. I would suggest maybe a presonus firepod ($600). Usually you can find them with some extras thrown in on ebay or from online retailers. I got an MXL 993...
mine is evetually gonna be something like this that will fit in a gator rack studio 4u...it has a slot for a laptop and so this is how it will look.
2 firepods
a power conditioner
and something else sweet that fits in 1 rack space....if anyone has any suggestions of something rackmount to go...
I am looking at power conditioners. 1)to protect my stuff and 2) im am getting a strange hum/tone when i am running certain things direct into my firepod.
Could this solve my hum problem? and what are some reccomendations for someone with a pretty tight budgetas I know nothing about power...
Thanks for the feedback all. One thing im trying to work on is getting a little better snare sound. I feel like the snare doesnt cut as well as it could. What kind of EQ settings does anyone reccomend. The mic on the snare really didnt pick up a great sound IMO.
I think im starting to get better at it. Let me know what you think. This was just an improvised jam in D in our drummers basement that was in the middle of a song of ours. Any suggestions would be welcome like...effects to add, where to place things in the stereo field, and of course loudness...
Wilco's new live album "Kicking Television" sounds great and im 99% sure there are no overdubs. Since they now have 6 people in the touring band they can get a really full sound live.
thanks...i like the sound but it isnt quite there yet I feel like it still needs sone tweaking. I am gonna pump up the snare volume and maybe eq it a little. Also I like the idea of adding a little reverb to the bass. It doesn't quite sound natural enough for me.
