amps... the necesary watts on stage.

ummmm, I know this has nothing to do with the money issue...but I recommend two 100w Marshall half stacks with slant cabs, some of those new handwired babies. No one will drown you out. Just my 2 cents or rather $5000. :D

    Question about Teles...

Well I have a nebulous idea for a custom guitar. I like the SG body. I don't like the shady neck to body connection. I like neck through body styles. I never knew that the tele had a partial hollow body. I never gave it any thought. but looking at the back you could envision a neck through...

    George Lynch Live....

oddly, for a un-glam rock post punk fan, Lynch was my fav. DeMartini I liked too. the Vai's and many others didn't have the tasty quality of Lynch.

    Question about Teles...

I was just looking at Warmoth's web page, in particular the Tele bodies. My question is this... what is the sound difference between the partial hollow bodies versus the solid bodies. Of course I expect there will be a more resonous tone...but will it be pronounced? feedback...

    this might offend some bassists...

word, guitar amps are not designed to reproduce low low notes. it takes more energy to reproduce bass notes...thus a band will have a 100w guitar head and a 400w bass head, with relative volume and presence. when a guitar amp does bass duty it overworks the power section and death ensues

    which is better?

If I think of every solid state amp in the guitar center nearest me...yeah I can see there being some truth in the no change in tone with volume argument. aren't randall amps solid state? I wonder how their shit reacts.

    which is better?

there are tons of arguments for both combo and stack configurations in a studio. combos you can switch out speakers quick, and typically you only need 2 speakers, open backs for flexible mic-ing, easier to carry. stacks-mix and match cabs, probably the best argument for. amps that have power...

    Looking for a Wider neck

Warmouth makes necks for repair and building guitars. They offer a choice of neck profiles and illustrate all. If their info is to be believed the Charvel Jackson necks are by far the flattest. Wide is another question. They have alot of cool info.

    Acoustics of a room

companies that manufacture wall board and wall material often have a high decibel drop sound proofing 4x8 board. web search for celotex, I believe they have a good product you could put on the walls that would not reflect and would absorb a great deal of sound. in addition this material would...
