Let's, for the sake of argument, say you wish to add a phaser effect from your effect box.
If you add the phaser in front of the amplifier the effect will be on the clean tone of the guitar and will be distorted through the pre amp section of the head.
Maybe I'm wrong here but I'm gonna put...
If price were the only factor when all of us purchace amps we would be buying amps at Wal-Mart. Thank the diety of your choice that some person want to build these amps. For their brave/silly/down-right-foolhardy choice to go head to head with Marshall and the other big boys we will pay a...
Stickbugg, while I don't have the critical ear some here posess, I listened to yer stuff and it sounds like you are limited by your mics and by the device with which you record. sorry man. beg borrow steal some mics. you probably don't have time to scrounge a new recording device and learn...
so, now we have that figured out...what is the amp and cab he is playing on...I really don't know myself but you're so good at IDing stuff that one more brain buster couldn't hurt.
I vote something like a 50 watt 2x12 combo all tube like a Carvin (check ebay for a used deal) to get overall tone then dial in your desired scream with a distortion pedal...may I recommend a ProCo Rat, maybe a Big Muff Pi Fuzz, or even more tubes pre from something like an ElectroHarmonix...

I've been looking at and listening to some inexpensive acoustics. See'n as how I only own electric I have been wanting something different. I have no desire to dole out a serious amount of cash...that is reserved for a nice toob half stack. Anyway, I played some of those listed and the...
google US Speaker. lots of components. Eminence speaker company has software for exact tuning of cabs. Their speakers are reasonably priced and quality. I would recommend going to guitar center and finding the cab you want and stealth measure it and try to duplicate it in a design. Use...
Hamer. I've been reading alot of well reasoned arguments against the quality of Gibsons lately. Not just sour grapes either. african versus honduran/low density verses high density mahogany wood. Finishes. The more you look into this stuff the more you realize Gibson ain't hit or miss just...
of the given choices I went wif Carvin, cause I recently had to repair a Peavey bass combo. What a giant pain in the ass. Couldn't be done. So, I guess Carvin wins by default. The rest is outside my domain, however recently a buddy got a Behringer mixer, a little inexpensive number, works...
now I notice the sub floor...duh.
also, I cannot attest to the effectiveness and the amount of the wood/adhesive/subfloor decoupling. but, you have indeed put that principle into place.
keep the pictures rolling, I'm very interested in these projects. :D
I was under the impression that you got rep points on a 1 point per lava lamp photo. I pray this is correct or else I'm collecting lava lamps for all the wrong reasons
