Hi, I am actively recording on several fronts: as a solo artist, several bands, as well as a demo studio for hire. Working on a Tascam 2488/2 shooting to go Protools late 2011-2012.

EMG pups do have an extremely long battery life but they are pretty clean and neutral sounding so if there is a particular tone you will have to goose it to get that chuggy tone. My suspicion is that you may have used the wrong value pots because if you get sound then they are wired correctly.

The Behringer C-2 mics are a pretty sweet deal I use mine for recording all sorts of things including acoustic guitar, acoustic bass guitar and drum overheads. They are my goto mics for live drum overheads as well.

For a live recording that does sound pretty good and I don't know if I would do anything different especially the bass as it sits really well in the overall mix.

There are lots of power amps, Behringer makes several but IMO the Alesis RA300 is hard to beat, quiet enough for a studio and enough power for smallish live gigs for about the same price.

I voted for performance mixing but in my case it's a bit of both. With my set up there are performance moves, panning, eq & efx changes that are impossible in real time so those are recorded as seperate stereo trax and added into the mix with faders. Thank you for sharing those videos, just...
