    Need some organ sounds, man

I'll probably be flamed but I really like the organ sounds in my Casio CTK691, it's one of the reasons I chose it over other keyboards.

    kick mic for surf-rock/psychobilly ??

I am getting really good results with CAD KBM412 mics, but a lot depends recording the right levels, placement and the drum it's self. If your drum sounds the way you want then this mic will capture it accurately with a little compression it really sits well in a mix. I have also used it for...

    Serious Acoustic Pickups

I have Highlaner Inside mics and IP2 transducers on my classical and 5 string abg. I really like the sound for live and recording with minimal feedback problems.

    Acoustic pickup recommendation

If a fresh set of strings does not fix the G string you might try a plain string.

Do shock mounts improve low end response from a microphone?

I dunno if it made a difference but it certainly got a laugh outta me. FWIW I have a similar contraption that holds my redneck pop screens.

    Stupid bass pickup question, but...

The preamp voicing can certainly make a huge difference on tone, hare the mid scoop current tone, one of the reasons I still use the SOS instead of newer stuff. Easiest route might be an Eq pedal, or one of the vintage voiced preamps like a VT or something. I use a Zeibek Submarine preamp with...

    Stupid bass pickup question, but...

EMG pups do have an extremely long battery life but they are pretty clean and neutral sounding so if there is a particular tone you will have to goose it to get that chuggy tone. My suspicion is that you may have used the wrong value pots because if you get sound then they are wired correctly.

Looking for a matched pair SDC

The Behringer C-2 mics are a pretty sweet deal I use mine for recording all sorts of things including acoustic guitar, acoustic bass guitar and drum overheads. They are my goto mics for live drum overheads as well.

New here, mic'ing question for Bass..

For a live recording that does sound pretty good and I don't know if I would do anything different especially the bass as it sits really well in the overall mix.

New here, mic'ing question for Bass..

Hi Koy welcome to a new world. With only 2 inputs & 8 trax to work with you'll need to plan out each song: 1 or 2 for vox, 1 or 2 for gtr, 1 or 2 for bass and 2 for drums; as you can see you'll soon run out of tracks and will need to bounce. When I was working with a DP01fx my usual modus...

    Power Amp

There are lots of power amps, Behringer makes several but IMO the Alesis RA300 is hard to beat, quiet enough for a studio and enough power for smallish live gigs for about the same price.

Do you feel mixing is another performance or something you let sit.

I voted for performance mixing but in my case it's a bit of both. With my set up there are performance moves, panning, eq & efx changes that are impossible in real time so those are recorded as seperate stereo trax and added into the mix with faders. Thank you for sharing those videos, just...
