Pretty sure audacity runs on it. There are a couple linux sequencers here, you might find what you're looking for. Edit: This might be a better place to look. I'd start with the one mattr suggested though, I've heard good things about it.

The flaw in this logic is that when you're talking about a black guitar, people assume you mean a black guitar.

I'm no expert, but did you try putting 2 guitar takes on at once? That will sound less 'clean' and more 'in your face' and heavy, from what I understand.
