There's a thread going about the virtues and otherwise of analog and digital delay units for guitars on a UK forum and I mentioned on that thread that I'd bought a SM-57 but was returning it as I had doubts and one of the other members on there mentioned the red5audio people to me as being worth...
I will,
they look like a direct competitor for the SM-57 to me,probably made in the far east for low cost and a small operation running out of a unit in Scotland somewhere can afford to sell online for a good price.
I have no idea what I'm looking at when I see a spec sheet for a microphone...
Hello fellow audio people,
I have been recommended these guys for somewhere to get good quality and well priced microphones,
studio microphones, drum mics and audio cables
in particular I am looking at the RVD30 Dynamic Microphone
Red5 Audio Ltd Dynamic Microphones
I have a Focusrite...
I did the bright cap mod to the amp for very good results,I would definitely recommend that as an easy mod if you find the pre amp break up sounds a bit harsh or brittle to you.
I just took the cap out but,
The stock value is 120pF, far too high in a Top Boost circuit. 68pF is considered a...
I'm enjoying the mix of styles in this,it feels like it could have been made in the 70's or the 90's or whenever and I mean that in the 'it has a timeless quality to it' kind of sense.
I can't really comment any further than that as I don't know my a s s from my elbow when it comes to tech stuff.
I think I'm a 'cover the bases' type of guitarist too.
I have a Strat, a humbucker guitar and I'm in the process of building a Tele, then there's an acoustic and I'm in the market for a bass and an electro-classical type thing too so I get the best I can afford for whatever type of sound I'm chasing.

I'm sure I read somewhere that when it gets like this you should try panning all the guitars to one side of the mix and all the keyboards to the other then come at it again.
Apparently that's supposed to help or something.
I bought the amp before I had a chance to play it but my thoughts were,it's a Vox and it's all valve so how bad can it be?
I think I'll be happy for quite a while with it,I don't think I've ever played through a Marshall so I can't speak from experience about them.
It's a truly stunning little magic box,so responsive to the touch and picking ,very dynamic and bloody loud too. The 30 must be a stone cold killer....
I'm finding the drive/gain sounds a little brittle to my ears tho so I may have to do the bright cap mod as described here,
Vox AC15CC Mod...
and another....

Hi Joel,
just stunning mate, mentioning me and two of the best guitars players there have ever been in the same sentence......
thank you
:)
I think as a player you are here to make a statement, for me most of the time that's being in tune if I can manage it but after that if you have a tone...
Thank you Aus,
without wanting to sound like a prat but I can remember being a lot better than this when I was younger so I am happy to do some Karaoke guitar for the time being and then to have convo's like this online.
I think I can go a fair way yet using the backing tracks and I am looking...
Thank you,
it's use it or lose it with the guitar and also with all the techno-jubbins that you have to get acquainted with to post online too I think.
I do like the Random Jammer's backing tracks though, they are definitely the kind of tracks I would be making if I had the same proficiency in...
