Yes. Thatis a pre amp with phantom power. So all you have to do is plug ur B1 into it, and plug the pre into ur soundcard and you're good to go.

It has 8 mic inputs on the very front of the firepod. Those are those black thingys you see. They will accept XLR connectors or 1/4" jacks. As for the TRS connectors, no the quailty shouldn't be effected, atleast not considerably. I'm not sure if TRS connectors can work with phantom power...

The obvious differences are the shock mounts and the hella nice case. A sterio matched pair is a pair that was matched in the factory to sound identical. Do you need a sterio matched pair? Will you notice the difference? Probably not. But some people would beg to differ.

You don't need fancy recording software such as cake walk to transfer your LP's. Get something free like audacity or goldwave, and get a rca to 1/8" cable. Then plug the rca's into the back of your pre amp and the 1/8" cable into the line in on your sound card. Hit record on the software and...
