    Analog Reverb Unit

hmm I think for the budget, a spring reverb unit would be the most logical way to go. I never thought about the other two options. So for spring, what would ya'll advise? Something that will work with a Presonus Firepod preferably.

    mic'ing a kit

if you want your drums to sound like the 1930's, then go ahead with one mic. for the type of music you're doing, I'd say get 2 overhead condensers and use SM 57 on snare and pick up a low fequency bass drum mic.

    Analog Reverb Unit

Howdy. I'm looking to add an old analog reverb unit to my gear. Any suggestions? It will probably used mostly for drums and guitar and voice. Also, any suggestions on a delay for vocals to make them seem more natural?

    New heads.

I myself use Evan's G1 Coated heads. I play mainly jazz so they are perfect to go along with my mahogany shells. They have lasted me for almost a year now. you can't go wrong with that. they are a great choice I must say!

    Looking to Buy: TASCAM 388

I'm looking to purchase a mint and working condition Tascam 388. I want to start recording with analog. digital is just to cheesey and fake and not the old fashioned way. I've checked ebay and the results are null. If anyone can lead me to the right direction of purchasing a Tascam 388, that...

    oak vs. hickory

depends on the style and what you think feels good really...like for jazz I like to use lighter sticks for more grace notes. For blues and such I use 5A's. As for oak and hickory, again, its your preference, just gotta go to the store and try everything.

    best vocal mic?

if the lead singer does that, you lose the depth and volume in his voice...the mic won't pick his voice up basically.

    best vocal mic?

budget should range from 50-200$ I'd say. You can hear our stuff at Roppongi's Ace. Thats basically the range of the voice, a little toned down from live obviously. We recorded with an Audio-Technica AT4033. I'm just looking for something thats similar to that but...made for live gigs.

    best vocal mic?

hey there, I was wondering what would be the best vocal mic to replace a shure sm58. I'm looking for something that amplifys the voice clearly. I think that the sm58 has too much bass in it. I want something that will clearly present my voice.

    Issue with Vocals

yeah their sound is 100% natural too, which is amazing. Yeah If you listen to our recordings the guitar just seems to mono and bass driven, I guess. I guess it all lies within experimenting with it, more of which I need to do. I'm just gathering ideas on how I can achieve it...

    Issue with Vocals

yeah we have an Alesis 8 channel mixer USB, only 4 of the channels work so we recorded the guitar first along with vocals so obviously we got off tempo. No clikc track or anything, we were just experimenting with the sound of the room and what not. Yeah I panned the snare to the left and used...

    Issue with Vocals

hmm that might be it...the drums sounds perfect in my room...but the guitar and VOX just don't seem "real enough", like a sound coming from a basement recording. But I will try my bathroom out, see if that helps any. Yeah a little natural reverb I think will make the VOX sound better. But for...

    Issue with Vocals

Hi...I'm in need of some ideas for my vocals. When we go to record the vocals, they sound very mono tone and not very real. I'm using a Shure 58 for the mic and just running it direct into the mixer. I want kind of an old blues-rock distortion on the vocals on a few tracks and other just normal...
