I use Voxengo, a frequency analyzer. I think this will do the job. So I want to shoot for -18dB and -11dB RMS, then?

I have always had a problem getting a good level for my mixes. A few years back, NL5 and SSG mentioned that the mix should peak around -3 dBFS? Is this correct?

Uploaded a new mix. Made it a little quieter, added some compression to the guitars and smashed the vocals out a little bit! Also added some more reverb to the drums.

I think the production is pretty cool. I wish more songs had different instruments in them than just guitar, drums, and bass (YAWN). Love the piano! Really adds a lot to the production here! Digging the guitar tone too. What was the amp/mic configuration?

Thanks for the feedback! I did notice the hi hat as well, and did some volume automation on the overheads to compensate. I wish I would have miked the hi hat separately for further mixing options...whoops! I will be posting some other songs soon as well :) Thanks again!

I was listening to an Alter Bridge CD today and realized that when it was turned down, it sounded kind of muffled, muddy, and lots of bass. When I turned it up, everything evened out. Whats up with that?
