    Please Come Home for Christmas......

I agree with lastdays, the guitar is intense, maybe turn it down a bit. and a full arrangement would definitely be nice. Also, I am listening in headphones and the solo sounds oddly panned or stereo separated or possibly double tracked? I think I would prefer the solo more dry and up front.

Jingley Christmas guitar instrumental - comments on mix or composition appreciated!!

Merry Christmas! Sounds good, I'm diggin' the tone and the tune.

    Couple of new songs

I listened to the first one. Not my style, but good execution. Sounds like the vocals need some work though. I'm listening on headphones but it sounds like they are a little too loud and have a weird reverb on them, maybe it's the room you're recording in. Next time try turning the mic down and...

The Way You Like-NEW BEAT-FEEDBACKS WILL RETURNED

Sounds good, I can hear Justin Timberlake on it too. My only suggestion is maybe make the beat change up more, but I say that to everyone.

    My First Remix

YO man, sounds good. I like the beat, it's super chill, but I kinda want it to change up during the hooks. And did you do something to the vocals? They sound kind of distorted or something. I've heard the original, but I'm not really familiar with it so is that just how they did it? Bad...

How do you process vocals for hip hop?

Pharell, sorry, I wasn't trying to come at you, but some of the things you said are just not good practices, even for a novice home recorder. The OP had a question about getting the vocals to sit in the mix, and none of what you suggested would have helped him do that. I thought you and the OP...

How do you process vocals for hip hop?

These are not good mics by any means, even for the price. If you are recording properly to begin with, then you shouldn't have any noise to remove. Unless you have a really great recording then you'll probably need to do more than just cut the highs and lows (if you even need to do that)...

    which tube condenser mic?

The MXL 9000 is a good choice for modding. With a new tube, transformer, and capsule it can be a great mic, and it would be cheap to mod. And if you don't want to mod, it's decent stock. And it's my avatar.

What Is A Good Interface For Recording In My Home Studio?

You won't need a mixer if you're using Cubase, that is where you would do your mixing. And probably any interface you get will have volume knobs for each channel, maybe not faders, but thats how you would adjust your mic levels.

What Is A Good Interface For Recording In My Home Studio?

I'm guessing you want at least 4 inputs plus midi. I've heard that the Fast Track is a good unit. Does the ProjectMix have midi inputs? That might be something to consider. There are lots of interfaces to choose from, Presonus, Alesis, Motu, Focusrite just to name a few that seem popular around...

help me decide and choose a mic

yeah I have an at4040, its not a bad mic. Spend some time workin on your mic placement before you go blowing a bunch of money and ending up with the same problem. Good gear does not necessarily make good recordings, good technique is essential though.

How do you process vocals for hip hop?

^ I don't think this guy knows what he's doing. How could he possibly know what the vocal track needs if he isn't listening to it with the other tracks? The goal is to get the vocals to fit in the mix.

Looking for a good microphone for a gift, but I know nothing.

Maybe also consider something like this, Buy PreSonus Blue Tube DP & AT2041SP Dual Mic & Preamp Package | Studio & Recording Packages | Musician's Friend or even something like these: Buy TASCAM US144 Interface and 990/991 Mic Pack Bundle | Studio & Recording Packages | Musician's Friend or Buy...

    Audio tweaker

Reaper is an excellent, and cheap(or free if you want) DAW. And once you get your files loaded into Reaper there is no need to put them back into the Fostex, you can do all your mixing on your computer in the DAW.

How do you process vocals for hip hop?

Vocals for hip-hop are going to be similar to rock and pop in that you just have to use your ear, and maybe a little extra compression. There is no magic compression ratio or EQ setting that will give you a commercial sound. You just have to listen and do what sounds good.

need to know how to improve this mix!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

It's kind of hard to tell on YouTube, you should put this up on soundclick or something that streams at high quality. From what I can tell, the vocals don't sit very well in the mix. I assume the effect info you listed is on the vocal track? From what you have there, it seems like you need to...
