Late 60's early seventies Aussie Rock. There was some very interesting stuff around in those days although I wasn't old enough to remember it.
Looking forward to hearing the final results Porter.
Are the days off to record in the good old Aussie sickie tradition category or legit leave ...
I would have to disagree with you on that . To my ears there is daylight between the KORG 01/w fd and the trinity and triton sound quality but thats just my opinion.
Disco dave, go and try out some second hand gear and let your ears be the judge.

Hi,
I think it could be a midi sax. Casio had one out in the mid to late 80's and Yamaha also have one. You just connect the thing with a midi lead to a sound module or even a computer sound card and your up and blowing.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. I've got the old pa9 software somewhere. I may use that instead or do what James said and look for just a basic sequencer.

Hi people,
I would like to use Sonar2.2 to play my sequences using my keyboard rig in a live situation and was wondering how powerful a laptop it would have to be to run midi? No audio stuff but just midi sequences. I'm on a tight budget so the cheaper the better would be good.

I agree with you rimshot but I think the way some of these guys reply is way wrong. People come here for constuctive answers to their questions and there is a right and polite way to answer without totally taking the piss out of someone who is still learning and needs help and encouragement...
Hi Carl,

Hi Mealz,
I have used a little old Boss Bx-600 6 channel mixer for many years. It's been everywhere and every gig at home and overseas and still works like a charm. 6 channels has been enough for me.
I've tried to keep my live set up simple.
Stereo left and right of my 2 synths into channel...
Well yes I would.
Perhaps I was answering the question based on what I am. A gigging muso who uses hardware gear to play out and also In my little home studio.
I guess we all have different ways of working and different ideas and mine at this point is Hardware over Soft.
As I said in...
Horses for courses I think.
IMHO as a keyboard player I prefer the hardware synths/samplers and I think the sounds are better than any soft synths I've heard plus I hate the demands softsynths place on my system as they tend to be a bit greedy on cpu usage.
I would take the motif rack over any...
Moskus,
I decided not to get the latest creative drivers and I tried the KX drivers and guess what .... No more problems so far. Works like a charm.
Thanks for your help
