    Bass Effects

Read up on the Boss Synth Pedal. I have one and I use it a little during some of the practice sessions. I love the Bootsy type of effect on it. I also have a Boss Limiter, EQ, and one of those old school red master pedals. I need to figure out the best order to set them up in though. Malcolm

OT: The guy in this forum building the monitors

I forgot his name but I think it started with a B. He was designing a High End pair of monitors and he had a link to his web page. They had the high end Amp and all. If anyone rememeber his name drop me a pm or just one response in here. Im curious as to how they are coming alone or if anyone...

    Goldwave/Mastering

You mix to get the best, equal, balanced, etc sound that you can from your songs. You can mix a song like a commercial song if your following some of the techniques ( ie, pans, reverbs, effects etc) that you like in a commercial song, but dont try to mix to get the presence, levels, volume, etc...

    New to mixing!

Yes, But you have to get it to digital first. If you have a editing program then this means you already have access to a digital source. It may not be great but Im sure its better than cassette. Im sure your partner who runs the equipment has already thought about it. If possible ( for now) run...

LOL Yeah, My first Tascam 4-Track = $500 or so, then I upgraded to a Tascam 8 Track = $1,300 plus I had to by a device to stripe smpte more $$$. I used it 2 weeks then Cakewalk came out with audio recording that worked with midi. Bought myself a 8 channel event Darla card and never looked...

Professional CD Burning for duplicators ?

Thanks Man, I have heard about one of the CD brands you mentioned in here as well as the Plextor. Im not familiar with the Plextor you mentioned but I will research it just for the knowledge. When I need to have something ready for Dubbing, I use a Masterlink to burn after...

I would recommend "Not" recording to cassette. You guys save up or rent some type of minidisk, CD Recorder, Laptop, computer, etc. Maybe get on Ebay and get a 2 channel Reel to Reel if your liking the analog sound or use a HiFi VHS VCR. Good Luck Malcolm

    Eq, Eq, Eq... Help!

Depends on the track. It's never just one sweep although you could get by with that. I may get killed for this one but, use a Spectrum Analyzer. LOL

    Mixing/Mastering with Waves Plugins?

I dont have the Diamond version, but try playing with the Ren Comp a little. Then play with the C4 if it's comes with that bundle. Stay light on the L2. Waayy too many variables with this though. Maybe if you post something. Malcolm

    Eq, Eq, Eq... Help!

Thats because of the lower frequencies that your mixes are producing,, you cant hear them. the commercial CD's have already removed these frequencies. Thats why you dont hear them in your car.

    Goldwave/Mastering

IF it's done right without cutting any corners. It's hard to use the same chain. Impossible even more for the same settings. Even with a good Mix Eng. The tracks will be different, dynamics change, etc. I once use to cut corners by listening to just a minute or so of a track then process it...

    Eq, Eq, Eq... Help!

Or , If your using small nearfields and your actually hearing the bass the way you figure it should sound without a Sub. Turn the bass down until its not to your liking. Or if the woofer cone is moving a lot, turn the bass down until it stops. These are just small steps to your problem, but...
