Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

It's built using the Jose Marshall as a reference. Peavy box, Marshall guts :) Like I said, if you use a 7 string Ibanez, the Mesa is for you. If you plays solos and care about people hearing your notes, you use a Marshall. PERIOD.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Well, we had the techs and about 50 years of guitar experience and NONE of us could make the amps sound worth a crap tuned to E440. It's not me bro, it's the crappy amps Mesa makes. It takes me about 15 seconds to get a good tone from a Marshall. Why does it take 2 hours for Mesa?! Uh, I...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Well, I had myself, my other guitarist (25 years experience) and the company that brought the heads helping us try and get a somewhat decent tone out of the triple rectifier and NONE of us succeeded. Come on, it can't be all of us. We had two of those things and they BOTH BLEW CHUNKS! It was...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Bingo. Mesa has turned themselves into the "nu-metal" supplier. Bad guitarist won't touch a Marshall. It will expose them.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

If they are good enough to have an endorsment, Mesa will custom make their head to their specs. Thrice? You mean that god-aweful band that made their only "semi-hit song" by ripping off Def Leppard's Switch 625 riff? That says all you need to know. Thrice is a terrible band. I'm sure the...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

My what an odd statement. You basically said my opinion doesn't matter, only yours does. I've heard enough Mesa's to know the Mark IV blows the Rectumfire's away. All of them. And the Blue Tolex 30th Anniversary Marshall blows away ANY stock Mesa. Period. If you know TONE, GOOD BROWN TONE...

    Nada? Zilch? Zero? None? Nobody?!

    Opinions on this track?

Cymbals/snare too loud in the beginning. Did you double track the vocals or add any effects? Can't hear the bass or kick much. Guitars sound OK. Otherwise, it's fine.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Go the guitar center and try all the amps out. What you will NOT find at Guitar Center is a 30th Anniversary Marshall. Pit that against the Triple "Rectumfire" (haha, sorry, couldn't resist!) and it'll blow it away. There's just no comparision between a good Marshall and a Rectifyer amp...

He's not using an 'off the shelf' Mesa either.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Can you show me the photo you used? The switch was called "Classic British" (inferring Marshall) or something to that effect to sort of emulate the older Marshall amps. I know that switch was there and the sound wasn't even close to a quality Marshall Amp. Monsoon, I am not sure if you'll get...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Well we messed with the amps for 2 hours before we gave up on them. No matter what we did, we could not get a good tone from the amps. Maybe I am a bit biased but my ears are used to good tone and those Triples just hurt my ears.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Because they aren't using "off the shelf" Mesas. In the studio, they are using custom amps. Most of them use MANY different amps. If they are endorsed by Mesa, they'll use them live and may have one for the studio. Metallica is endorsed by Mesa but if you look in their studio, they have...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Get a Marshall. You won't be happy with the sloppy tone of the Mesa if you're playing solos. If you're a good player, Marshall will reward with great tone and every note will be heard. If you're bad, Mesa will cover up your playing a bit but you won't have the best tone and not all notes will...

What do you think of the PodXT for home recording?

Are there any comparisions on the net between these two things tone wise? If this one is better, I'll send the Pod back and get it!

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

What style music do you play? You don't need a NEW amp! You can find a used AMP on eBay. I personally have had good experience with the older Marshall's (JCM800/6100 30th Anniversary). Again, it depends on what tone you need. If you are a player who's dependent on people hearing your notes...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

I played a brand new Mesa Triple at a gig in Chicago. We asked for Marshall's but the venue provided brand new (we took them out of the box) Mesa's. For playing rock, they were terrrible! I imagine if you are playing tuned down metal where tone and tenique are less important the Mesa might be...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Can I ask why you'd choose Mesa over Marshall? As for the difference, the circuitry is different but every Mesa I've ever played sounds muddy and the tone just doesn't match my Marshall 6100. In fact, in my experience playing live the Mesa's clean tone was horrible (triple rect) and the dirty...

    Help. Compressing existing tracks.

I have a drum track in WAV format. I want to compress the track. How do I do that on my AW16G when it's on the recorder? Can I record onto the recorder by taking the stereo outs and plugging them into the compressor then into one of the other tracks? I am not sure how to do this! Any thoughts?

    Solved First recording attempt

Thanks! I am in the process of re-recording these songs. I had NO pre-amp, compressor or Pod. Now with the new equipment I think I will really take my time doing these recordings to see how well I can make it match the original. This time I'm doing 3 tracks for each vocal instead of 2. I can...
