    Behringer Composer Pro vs. RNC

I've found the RNC doesn't handle kick bass that well either but for vocals and acoustic guitar, so far it's a great little compressor and I definitely feel like I got MORE than my money's worth on it. Really Nice mode is superb!

What do you think of the PodXT for home recording?

Ronan, I don't think you understand. Not everyone has the ability to use real live tube amps for recording. It's just not feasible for most HOME recording applications. Trust me, I'd much rather use my Marshall for recording than a Pod, but if I did, I'd have to find a new place to live...

    whats the most unerrated GUITAR?

Ibanez RG220. Swap out the pickups and the tremolo (another $200.00) and you have a guitar that sounds and plays great. Mine plays as good as my $1600 jackson SL-1 and sounds just as good.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

No. I bought the RP-7 so I could practice to CDs without killing my neighbors. I didn't buy it to record or play with. I used it on a demo because that's all I had at the time. As I said, if I had the option, I would record with my 6100 instead of using an emulator, but I don't have a...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

I turned the speaker emulation off and that helped TONS. I've found that since the speaker is smaller, I just need to hold the mic about 4-6" away from the monitor and just off center. That seems to be working well. I will say you have to CRANK the Pod up according to the instructions to get...

What do you think of the PodXT for home recording?

Well I went with HangDawg's suggestion and it seems to be working well. I am just running my pod to my powered monitor speakers and micing the speakers directly. So it's like this: Guitar>Pod>Monitor Speaker>Octava Mk319>DMP-3>Recorder So far the sound isn't that bad at all. I get real...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

HangDawg, thanks for the suggestion. The Pod sounds amazing direct through the monitors. I have to remove the cab effects and work on mic placement but so far I am pretty darn happy with the sound. I can make some sound samples tonight if you want to hear it. I am just thinking of some...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

If you read from the beginning, I've always said the Mark IV was great and the rectumfire sucked. READ the entire thread please. Ok fair enough. Marshall tone rules. I'll never change my opinion on that.

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Not true at all. I listened to samples of their entire album when I hear "All that's left" on the radio. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. Again, not my cup of tea, but... Playing devil's adv All they did was change the timing of the notes. They are all the same notes in the same...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Hey, it's not my problem if you want to make excuses for Thrice. Listen to both songs back to back before formulating your opinion (and try without bias. I never knew Thrice till I heard that song and Switch 625 was the FIRST thing I thought of when I heard the beginning of that song). But...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Um, no. I insulted the amps. Not people. That's not my style. No need to sink as low as those who do... I said the Mark IV sounded great. I said the Rectifiers don't - to my ears. If I was making a statement here, what else would it be than my opinion. Or am I supposed to start every...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Was gonna say, DARN GOOD drum simulator :) I like the sound. I am trying to find a really good clip of my 30th but I think I'll have to get in a studio somewhere for you to really hear it. With the Seymour Duncan or EMG's I run and the 30 watt vintage celestions, it's just the perfect tone...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

My friend, as a backup, bought the 30th blue tolex that was a combo, took the amp out and mounted it inside a SKB rackmount! Works great. He has everything he needs in that rack AND a brilliant sounding amp!

Those all sound pretty good. Stevie has a different tone but your amp sounds decent on that track. I just love that brown/warm tone from the Marshalls. Drum machine?

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

It's called "Switch 625", go buy the album "High and Dry" and learn what a GOOD band sounds like. It's right after "Bringing on the Heartbreak." (better guitar tone on that album than Thrice too, and that was 22 years ago.) They stole the main riff of that song and altered it just a bit to...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

That's why Thrice uses them... Ah, so you're assuming...that's good to admit it. Ask Kirk Hammett or James Hetfield if they use "off the shelf" Mesa's. They do not. Ask any BIG band what they use in the studio, it will not be an "off the shelf" amp. Know what you're talking about...

Which Marshall do you want to hear? I can find some live clips of us covering a Lep song. You can hear my other guitarist's 30th before I got mine. His sounds so sweet!

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Sure I can. Joe Elliott doesn't sound like a pre-pubscent boy. People bag on Def Leppard all the time, why is it not OK to bag on Thrice for stealing their riffs?! It's just an opinion. You might not like it, but that doesn't mean I don't have a right to say it. That's what makes America...
