    Acoustic recording options:

I have one Mk319 mic. I could record at the sound hole or I could plug in to the guitar with either option going to the DMP3 to the compressor to the recorder. Should I just bone up and get another mic to utilize the best suggested way of recording acoustic via 2 mics?

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

If you play with a lot of distortion, the JCM900's tone just blows for that. Even the clean on mine was terrible. It was, IMHO, the worst amp I've seen come from Marshall. I tried different tubes, had my amp biased, etc and could never get a good tone out of it. I talked to many 900 owners who...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

I run a JCM900 cab but the 75 watt celestions have been replaced by vintage 30s which sound a LOT better and help really bring the tone out on the 6100.

    Recording Vocals - NEED HELP

+1 Love my RNC and am just now getting to see how sweet this thing is. It sounds like this is what you need to solve your problem!

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

I know, I know. I was honest in the fact that I had not enough time to really tweak the amp. We spent 2 hours with the Triples and couldn't get a "brown" sound out of them no matter what we tried. The "classic" switch (or whatever it's called) helped a bit. I've always heard the Marshall's...

    PodXT samples (for those wondering)

Not sure on the Pod LIVE. You'd have to check. As far as tweaking sounds on the Pod, you have 32 amps and a multitude of effects, cabs, mics, mic placement, etc. You can control EVERY parameter of almost everything. Think of it as you have every amp, effects pedal, speaker and mic at your...

What do you think of the PodXT for home recording?

;) I'm using that with my PodXT for my redo of my cover. I'll post it when I am done and you guys tell me what you think of the Pod then. Again, if I had a choice, I'd use my Marshall but for now, the Pod is the best alternative.

    PodXT samples (for those wondering)

I loved the reverb on that sample but you can easily turn it off. You can tweak many sounds with the Pod but that is by FAR the best sample I have heard so far. If the sound translates well to my recording, it will be the best $300 I have ever spent!

    PodXT samples (for those wondering)

Alright! You have guts my friend. Thank you! I'm using that patch for my cover. I'll post it when it's done :)

Then why are guys touting the Mesa preamp? Same concept, right?

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

Hmm, I wonder if they use Marshall Preamps and would a Marshall Pre-Amp be better to record direct with?

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

I didn't have time to pull it apart. I just figured all Mesa Triples sounded like that. Especially when the other brand new triple sounded the same :D We didn't think that both could possibly have tube issues but then again, they were never checked so I can't say for sure. I dunno if the...

Single / Dual / Triple Rectifier

My opinion was based off the EXPERIENCE of being stuck having to use a triple rectifier for a gig when the rider clearly called for Marshall's. And yes, it has a "classic" switch on it. It was a BRAND NEW Triple. Never used, right out of the box. It sounded like A$$.....that's the best way...
