    My New DP-02

Congratulations! From a fellow DP-02 user (soon to be 2488MKII though). It's a great unit. One little bit of advice...pay VERY close attention to the section in the user's manual that talks about arming tracks. It's a bit tricky at first, but a breeze after you understand it. I tried to...

Eric Johnson - Drum Reverb on East West

Well, it's actually East WES (no "t")... Tribute to Wes Montgomery. I believe they just recorded the drums live in the studio, so a "hall" effect should get you there.

I'm so pissed off right now!!!!

A couple of days ago, I go on Craig's List/Musical Instruments/Kalamazoo, MI...and I see a 1951 Gibson ES 125 for $125.00!!!! Granted, the guitar needed work...the neck was cracked where it connected with the body (the crack extended through the body of the guitar. A serious, but very easily...

Good for you! As a fellow 47 year old (at least for the next 14 days:() I am just finishing up several tracks on my DP02CD (I just purchased a 2488...the DP 02 is great, but I need more tracks). I hope it all works out for you and above all...HAVE FUN!

    Good Vibrations Cover

Don't sweat the age thing... I mean, I have to admit, when I heard your age, I was shocked, but it just shows that you have a ton of natural talent. You've got a great voice and an excellent songwriting/production style. Just remember us little people when you hit it big (and I fully expect...

    On "Expert" Advise

I'm with you... I've had a basement studio for about 25 years now and I am, by no means at all, an expert. In fact, I probably do lots of stuff the wrong way. I do value everyone's opinions on this website though because, in many instances, there isn't necessarily a wrong way...just a...

    Good Vibrations Cover

Well Done! A daunting task indeed to take on this tune, but you did it well. I wouldn't know where to start with this song. About the only thing that I had an issue with was some of the digital keys (not the Moog thing or the barroom piano though...that was great!). What stands out? You...

    Show Us Your Pedalboard

I haven't seen the same issues... As Light with the DR strings, but, then again, I've only just started using them.

    Show Us Your Pedalboard

DR Strings I like them so far. I think the pack in the pic are .010's for my ES 135. I also like the new Dean Markley Electric strings. I put a set of those on my Stratocaster (.009's) and they really give you a nice bright, crisp sound. Lately, I seem to be gravitating toward nickel...

    Show Us Your Pedalboard

Hey Texsunburst59... Kudos! that is about the most extensive board I think I've ever seen. Impressive. Care to list out all of those pedals? Do you carry those in a case, or do you put it all together every night you are gigging? Lately, I find myself burying my nose in the back of Guitar...

Up to $1000 Reverb Rack Mount

I agree also, BUT... Even the Lexicon MX series are VERY nice reverb units PLUS. They are considered multi fx, which may not be what you are looking for. I have an MX 200 and an LXP 15 II (maybe a bit over the top) and they are both great units in my rig.

    Recommend me a Recording School?

Dude... if you seek knowledge... then you have a lot of really good suggestions here. This isn't about a piece of paper. This is about some really good recording programs.

Have You Ever Seen The Rain (full)

Damn... Sounds good! Vocals are great. Here is what I'D do with the drums. Keep them totally dry in the mix (mono and dead in the middle of the mix) and drop the volume just a tad and you are there Bud! See you at Madison Square Garden!

So far so good guys, keep the pics coming... I guess I need to clean up my set up (see the first pic) although I'm not a gigging musician, just a basement enthusiast (and have been for about 25 years)...I LOVE checking out what people are using. It's like an art form and everyone has different...

    Recommend me a Recording School?

Check out University of Florida-Coral Gables Back in the 70's when I was young, I wanted to attend their program. Didn't have the cash (I live in Michigan). At that time, they supposedly had a very good recording engineering program. I don't know if they still do, but it check it out...

    Show Us Your Pedalboard

As only a guitar player could appreciate...I got the idea from a website called Gilmourish (dedicated to you-know-who). This website has a gallery of about 200 pedalboards. As pedalboards are extremely personal, I'm curious to see what everyone else out there is using...I'll start with my set...

Cheapest Fender vs. Most Expensive Squire

I've got both... I have an '86 Fender Japanese Squire (I'm the original owner), and a 2008 American Standard Stratocaster. Both guitars are quite nice. I've discussed these guitars with a few experts and they all agree that the mid-80's Japanese Squires were really great guitars for the...
