You would be getting ripped off. Tell him that you want the cab and at least $50 cash.

    Controlling Valve amps with MIDI

It also works great for controlling one or two multi-effect units so that you don't need a huge rack of effects. I've been using midi to control my guitar effects for over 20 years.

The Palmer PDI-03 would work perfectly for that. It takes the speaker output of the amp and converts it to line level with or without the speaker sim.

Using a Joyo with a noise suppressor pedal

I always run mine via battery. Normally I don't use pedals but when I do it's just an OD alone for an extra flavor. The people saying that the Joyo pedals are noisy are most likely chaining a shit ton of pedals together in some massive pedal board.

Using a Joyo with a noise suppressor pedal

I have the Joyo Vintage Overdrive and it really isn't any noisier than a Boss pedal. It's only noisy when used in front of a distorted amp same as any other OD pedal. When used in front of a clean amp the noise is not that bad. The only time that it sounds nasty is when I crank up the tone...

    Pickup Queries

The Duncan JB is pretty much a stronger version of a 59. That's why they compliment each other so well. If you like a certain pickup what difference does it make that your other guitar has the same pickups?

My favorite live vocal mic was an EV PL95 that I bought back in the 80s. It worked great for guitar as well until it finally crapped out. I've tried the N/D 267a and N/D 767a but they just don't sound as nice as the PL95. The newer EV mics that I've tried have a very heavy proximity effect which...

Analog delay w/ more than 300ms

The Jet City Amplification The Flood Analog Delay has 550ms of delay and it's within your budget.

    LPC Tune up

Now that's a horse of a different color.... and it should be shot because it's lame. There is no way that a guitar like that could be comfortable to play, so they must be strictly for posers. I also agree that EMG pickups are lifeless crap. I don't do a lot of whammy bar stuff but, I do like my...

    LPC Tune up

I don't understand how a guitar headstock "represents" anything. It's just a guitar. I'm totally indifferent to headstocks, other than the Parker fly and reverse headstocks which IMO are weird. There is plenty of really bad music done with all types of guitars and the headstock has absolutely...

I thought that the emoticons gave a clue that I was just trying to get a rise out of Greg by trolling him. This place is becoming way too serious. What happened to this site? We used to laugh and screw with each other and it was all in good fun. Are such things not allowed in this thread either?

My butt feels just fine thank you. Nice of you to care so much about it but that is a little creepy.:D My speaker sim is just a tool that I use when I don't want to be loud. I have three 4X12 cabs to use when I want to rattle the walls. The PDI-03 is used by many pro guitarists such as Alex...

I guess since you just like to crank your amp up to 10 and beat your Les Paul into submission [IE play punk rock] then tubes are a low priority for you. :laughings: That leaves more tubes for those of us that play real music with actual dynamics. :D

    The New Tone Thread

I used to think the same thing until I started collecting and experimenting with various types of tubes. Even subtle differences in preamp tubes can change things like gain structure and noise levels in your amp. Long and short plate tubes sound different from each other. Unbalanced triodes can...

That amp really nails the old Van Halen 1 plexi tone. It actually sounds more Marshally than some Marshalls that I've heard.

Here is another clip of a typical rock tone that I would use live. The chain is the same as before : LP > Legacy > PDI-03 > G-Major 2 > interface.

I actually didn't use a speaker or mic for that clip. I used my LP > Legacy > Palmer PDI-03 > TC Electronic G-Major 2 > interface. The Palmer and G-Major are part of my live rig but they work great for silent practice and recording.
