    Studio advertising ideas?

Thanks for the tip, Racherik :) Update: A friend of mine owns a local venue where they often track live shows. He invited me to come down and pick up a couple projects and we're going to each do a mix and compare. He said if he likes what he hears, he'll have me mix future recordings. Either...

    Studio advertising ideas?

D'oh! I should have thought of that. I already have a USB interface and a netbook that works great for 2-tracks. :D Thanks moresound! -- I created a facebook and twitter account. Next step is to add them to my signature and my website's contact page

    Studio advertising ideas?

Oops, I should have been more clear. I have a well-treated space for mixing, I just can't track "in-house" because only one room, this one, is available right now (though, I can use other local studios to work in.) That's a good idea for offering myself as a session player. I've been playing...

    Studio advertising ideas?

Thanks. This is REALLY helpful information. I've been thinking of social networks but haven't thought of exactly what to write on them. I've got a few good ideas now from your post. :)

    Studio advertising ideas?

Hey gang! So, I've been brainstorming ways to promote my home studio. So far I've come up with the obvious.. Craigslist, website, flyers at music shops, going to shows, and meeting venue owners. What are some out-of-the-box marketing ideas that you guys use? I can offer mixing, finalizing...

I like this idea. Ubuntu is doing something similar: http://askubuntu.com/ I believe this idea for REAPER started here: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=68920 I didn't think that a website had actually been created yet, though.. Very cool!

How do you position your monitors and why?

I've always wondered... When people say to position your monitors at least 1.5-2 feet from the front wall, do they mean the rear of the speaker, the front of the speaker, or the middle? Also, do the "rules" change regarding front-ported monitors as opposed to rear-ported ones?

    Convolution VST?

LeCab is a good one, too. Yeah, ReaVerb is a bit heavy.. It can run in zero-latency mode though, which is cool. Just check the little ZL checkbox. I don't know anything else about it though. I rarely use convolution-based effects.

    Extra-custom shortcut

The SWS extensions recently added a new "Live Config" mode to the docker. It might be of help. Here's a few links: SWS download: http://standingwaterstudios.com/installation.php Explanation on REAPER forum: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=63775 GIF demo...

    Convolution VST?

ReaVerb is REAPER's convolution plugin. The name is a little misleading, but you can use any type of impulse with it. Not just reverbs

    Multiple Inputs?

You might be able to use both with the ASIO4ALL wrapper. You might have some timing issues though (devices not staying in sync..) I haven't tried it myself, but it should be possible.

    Double Click FX Windows

Heh no problem. Yes I R Wizard. :D Another tip: To set all of your plugins to run in bridged mode do the following... * Open the FX browser * Select "All Plugins" * Select the first plugin in the list * Scroll to the end of the list, hold shift and click the last plugin *...

    Double Click FX Windows

Ok let's start there. What if you right-click the plugin in the FX browser and select "Run as > Embed bridged UI" (or something similar..not at the DAW at the moment..) Then load the plugin onto a track?

    Double Click FX Windows

I've never seen that either and I run both versions (32 and 64) weird.. Is it with every plugin, or only when you're running bridged 32-bit plugins? The default behavior is that you have to click on the plugin name to show its GUI. I guess if all else fails, you could always try running...

Heh yeah, just thought we'd rule out the obvious ones first. :D That link you posted seems like it will work.

    which version should I download?

Use the regular Windows installer :) The Windows x64 is for people running a 64-bit Windows operating system. The others are for different Apple OS X systems.

    reaper and adat

Check your REAPER preferences. You may need to set the range of available inputs to include your new ADAT. Preferences > Audio > Device > Enable Inputs If that's not it, you might need to change a setting for your EMU (not sure about this, never used one..)
