Howdy folks!
Who can tell me what effects(recording technique?) to use to get that "voice" on the radio sound that you here on some raps and other songs. You know, that "far away on the radio over there sound", know what I mean?
Thanks in advance

I bought a DPS 16 that I am VERY happy with, except that there seems to be no way to even use the scene memory in real time which eliminates what should be one of the hip things about a DAW.You have to MIDI an external sequencer to automate a mix. I believe the Korg does. For the price it seems...
Howdy all you folks that are in favor of an AKAI users forum on this bbs!
Is the only way to have any mix automation on the DPS via external sequencer?
I've been trying to at least use the scene memory in real time, but it won't let me get into the scene tab while the recorder is playing back...
THanks AlChuck!
Even though you used a very scary phrase, "if it is configured properly" which is the biggest reason that I vacillate on getting into computer based recording anyway.
The majority of the posts I see deal with problems that boil down to "configuration".
NO comments from anyone...
Hey,
I am about to launch into computer based recording and am just about set on a MOTU 2408 and Logic Platinum, but I have just one question that seems to be so obvious (or me so blind) that I don't see it addressed on Cubase's or Logic´s sites...
How many tracks of simultaneous input can you...
Howdy!
I would definately consider what my anticipated use of a case is, 'cause you never know when you will have to trust it under a plane.
I personally looked into some industrial sites and found that the company Pelican has some crushproof, waterproof, dustproof (even with a pressure...

1) maybe if this thread reaches 100 or so replies, someone will realize a DPS 16 or at least an AKAI forum is warranted!
2) I have the new (at least at the time!) plextor 32/12/4 burner and have had some problems with disks being read on one player and not on another. I also got a funky...

Jax hit on an important point. How much you spend (for a non-drummer) depends on how much you plan on learning about tuning the drums and what heads to buy.
Also there is a LOT you can due to an entry level to mediocre drum set to make it sound GREAT. (Also...sticks DO make a difference!)

Terminaology question:
I know that active monitor means a monitor with it's own amp built in (right?)
But what's the deal on near field vs direct field, etc. The space I'll be dealing in is going to be about 12' by 10' or so and it won't be square shaped.
Help a newbie out!

Hey!
Also, the Yamaha site make sreferences to "Yamaha recommended" CD-R drives and IDE Hard Disks. But I did not see a list. Does anyone know where it/they are?
Alright, I know everyone has heard of and maybe even been tracking the ads and disads of the new Fostex VF 16 vs 1680 vs 1880 vs DPS16 vs Korg D16 vs Godzilla vs Rodan!
OK, so here's a question, with all the hassle in making the VF 16 export data in a reasonably direct manner, and all the other...
Does a soundcard have to be full duplex to inport a .wav file, edit it and export it to a CD burner (internal or externa)?
The deal is, I've got a pc with one of those "everything is a chip integrated onto the motherboard" motherboards. Bottom line, the soundcard is a chip that supposedly does...

What is "CD redbook audio"
For that matter what are the different types of cd burning and cd's other than "regular" and "get-an-already-formatted-digital-audio-disc-cuase-you-have-a-philips-machine"?

I am in the (PTL) final stages of deciding on a keyboard purchase, but I've got one or two (OK, three!) nagging details to resolve.
1) The Korg Trinity combi patches allow you to vary the mix of up to 8 timbres and save the result as your own patch.
Does anyone know if the XP-60 A) has...
