Hey now Trent is an amazing musician! That put aside I thank you all for your Opinions on the subject. It is still a verry hard choice. I think what I will try doing is using an electric for tracking, acoustic for practice, and eventually experiment with drum micing, once again thank you all!:D
Practice makes perfect, In the music field, its best to know as much as possible so if it comes down to it and you absolutly have to play, you can. I'm no drummer but I can keep a beat. And as for the actual question, Give fruity loops a try. They have various different instruments with...
I have been told ALOT that foam can be bad for recordings or even do nothing. As these guys have said a larger room gives space for a larger sound. I would try to move your vocal booth next to or in the controll room. It seems a bit rediculous to have it up stairs.
If it's a nice amp, I wouldent risk it. Bass sends a lot more wattage to the speakers than a guitar does. You should be able to just plug in direct depending on the program/mixer/interface. I would stick with that untill you get your hands on a bass amp.
If at all possible, Consider turning your bedroom closed (if capeable to) into a vocal, put some acoustic treatment in it and try to sound proof it as much as possible. As for the fans, I would amaign you would turn them off during vocal recordings as you ARE using a mic :p. If a small vocal...
Hey all, I use a Tascam DP-02. I just upgraded 2 days ago from a fostex, and on my fostex I never used 'stereo mixing.' I have no clue what it is. From what it sounds like, or what I assume it is anyways(please correct me if I'm wrong). Making it a stereo mix allows it go out out the Left AND...
Yeah I'm Thinking drum mics would benefit me in the long run. any suggestions on a decent pair? All I've had the chance to use were some CAD PRO-7 7's. 7 piece set, they were fairly nice.
Hi, I was wondering If a stero with large enough speakers could be used for monitoring. Something such as http://stlouis.craigslist.org/ele/1615989539.html . I'm just wondering what can be used for monitoring, I know It's got to be 2 speakers. Or so I assume.
Thanks for the links, the walls are I assume dry wall with a thing layer of finished wood on it, on side of the 4 walled room is a big window with thick drapes, not sure what I'm going to do to that side yet. The room is aprox, 10 by 12 feet. Once again thanks for the help.
www.soundclick.com/knownartist. They recorded that 2 years ago and have just been working on songs and are now ready. Not so much a reggae feel in those tracks but They've got it down. Thanks for all the advice guys it wont go to waste.
