    My first attempt

Very nice finish indeed. What's with the cryptic characters on the pickguard?

Before You Decide to Buy and Rebuild a Rondo Guitar, Check THIS!!!

That is not the neck cavity, it's the pickup route. It looks like the screws from the pups were too long and someone at the factory chipped out some wood so the screws would work. The pickguard covers all of this so who cares. I have taken many trips to Rondo and inspected their guitars first...

    Public service shout out

Great tone is subjective. Who are you to say a cheap amp doesn't have great tone?

    Behold: The Rock Helmet

Sounds cool, I would recommend you stand with one foot in a bucket of water the first time you fire it up.....

    Valve King

I had the VK112 for over a year, don't be so sure you want to swap the tubes just yet. I thought it had fairly decent sounding distortion stock. Plus if you add an overdrive it will send the gain throught the roof. Buy it and play it before investing in tubes IMO...

    Mini Washburn HB-155 review

I would go with a Bubinga pickguard to match the body!! Skip the mother-of-toilet seat all together..

    Protecting solder joints (superglue?)

I have only done this when I have active pups installed and fear the battery may hit the connections. I wasn't expecting protection from oxidation w/ tape..

    Protecting solder joints (superglue?)

You could always give a wrap or 2 of electrical tape over the top of the pot. That would add some protection and is easy to remove when needed.

Simple: If it was your money, which one would you choose?

The Agile stuff is nice. Just curious as to why you are limiting your choices. If you want something that looks and plays like a LP check out the Washburn Idol: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Washburn-Idol-WI46-Electric-Guitar?sku=516897 The pickups will be more satisfying than whats...

    why change pots?

Even my Washburn Idol had those small cheasy Korean pots. The guitar comes stock with real Duncans and then goes cheasy on the wiring. I paid $50 and bought a pre-wired set from some guy on ebay. They were the best quality CST pots w/ excellent caps and super wiring. Needless to say the...
