    Alright!

i think if you calibrate using a 200nw/m tone but you will be using 250nwb/m tape, then you set your machine to put out -2db and the meters reading -2db when playing the cal. tone. i think anyway. If i'm wrong please say coz this has been fucking with my head

    Alright!

Calibrating is something I have just recently gotten into and it is HUGE! But if you take each step at a time, and take your time over it, you will find it informative and you will get a buzz when you finally have the thing ticking over nicely. Stick to what the manual says and the order it...

    Alright!

you can use your pc and software scopes to set up the PB levels and PB meters... so yeah you will/may need to adjust these. You really shouldn't rely on the VU meters. But of course, an externam PPM or VU meter that is calibrated can be used. when using the PC to calibrate your machine you...

    388 Calibration / Service question...

not sure about the 388, but on most reel tape recoeders after calibrating the playback heads you also need to record a tone from a generator to set azimuth and bias as well as the metering I'm calibrating my first teac a-6100 as we speak :o

    vocal compression?

Man Alevy this was a perfectly reasonable question and it seems you 've been given a hard time because you mensioned that it was for rap vocals... that pisses me off. Ignore these knobs! When you are compressing your vocals, the peak volume will be reduced. The makeup gain is for bringing the...

    calibration/service places in Ohio?

Y'know, it's not that difficult to callibrate a reel 2 reel. All you need is a test tape that contains certain frequencies, and a pc with some software scopes on it. This is the perfect opertunity to learn more about your machine. Do a google search for calibration techniques and see what you...

I remember when I first started playing the bass when I was 17ish a friend I knew briefly told me that his dad owned a very rare British made fender strat. I played on it so I know the guitar itself existed but I was new to playing...
