What are your favorite reverb plugins, free or not free?

What makes a mix more or less "compressable"? How do you get less dynamic range but still have the mix sound good? Don't know that I want to because I find I like the drums about 3-6dB louder than the guitars, but good to know how to do it just in case....

I borrowed a friend's Event 20/20p's and gave some previous mixes a listen. I hear almost no low end...the kick and bass are buried under the guitars, which seem to dominate. Those same mixes on computer speakers seemed to have about the right amount of kick, bass (some even a bit bass heavy)...

google explosion.wav and see what turns up...the first link has a couple if you're feeling lucky.

There may be fewere HS80M users because they're $350 ea, while the RP6 is $200 ea... I liked the HS80M's as well. The HS80M also had more low end than the HS50M. The HS50M seemed OK but nothing to write home about...I wondered if the HS80M was "hyped" or not flat, although I believe I did not...

Slightly off topic from this thread, what is your favorite free VST limiter, and what is your favorite non-free VST limiter?

What are your favorite compressor tutorials or FAQ's? I found this one with sample settings: http://www.rane.com/note1558.html I'm trying to get drum sounds to be a bit more even dynamically without turning to mush, in particular the kick drum. A quick search here and on google suggests...

Any thoughts about a power amp and passive speaker setup? Something like a Samson Servo 120 or 200 and a pair of passive Alesis Monitor 1's. Seems like it would be a good idea for switching between pairs of speakers with a consumer audio speaker set there in the room.

Downloaded DirectiXer VST wrapper and Homestudio now sees the VST effects.

...the synth is a VS*C* synth. CWHS2K4 may not have VST plugins. Searching the help index for VST turns up no document. Is there a way to confirm or disconfirm whether it can deal with VST's? I downloaded the Nyquist 5 band EQ and have the dll, although when I go to unzip it, it asks what app...

I believe it can to VST plugins because it has the Edirol VST synth...if not I'll be back with more questions! Looks like kvraudio.com and gersic.com have a bunch of plugins to check out.
