I had a 21" CRT for years and just replaced it with a 19" wide screen (going to add a second ws shortly). I don't get as much vertically, which I kind of miss, but it adds about 5 - 8 measures in my Sonar track view. Seems easier on the eyes too. The weight and clutter factor to is nice.
Last night I was messing around with some distorted guitar parts and messing with some techniques and I ran into a problem that I don't recall running into with Sonar 3. I recorded 4 tracks of the same guitar part panned one hard left, one hard right, one 68% left, and 68% right. I'm recording...
Thanks for the responses. I went to the Cakewalk forum and they helped me out. I guess you create a "widget" by hitting the little FX button and then parameters for the VST come up and you can assign knob controls and parameters. Thanks though!
HI I just was just sitting here thinking to myself about recording bass and guitar and was wondering which would be better; mono or stereo?
I've just been recording in mono, and for distorted guitar parts, I've been doubling up and panning hard left and hard right. What would the benefits be...
I'm runnning SP1 because I reformatted recently. I don't have much experience with setting up my SATA's as a RAID so I don't know if I can be much help. One problem I ran into is if I left my IDE connected while I installed the OS on one of the SATA's, the OS installation was corrupt because...
I went home and messed with it for a while and still can't figure out how to assign the envelope to a know or slider, can anyone help? I can figure out how to assign the pan and volume parameters, but none of the envelope parameters for the VST plug-in. Seems kind of weird that you wouldn't be...
I had the same problem with mine recording one track with no other tracks and no plug-ins. I had to start the click track a measure into the song otherwise the click track would be off. And my computer is pretty high-end so it wasn't a hardware issue, but I never did figure out how to get rid...
Hello there, maybe someone can refresh my memory, but I'm using this plug-in called the Shepard. It's a whisteling emulator that was free and I figured I'd mess around with it and write some old western movie type songs (I can't whistle worth shit). Anyway, you can add the track nodes to...
I have 5PE too, and sometimes with some VST's you have to manually click "Enable as synth", or something to that effect, after the adapter has been run and detects it. As for the DXI, I'm not sure, I try to use only VST's for future transfer to a Muse Receptor.
If your motherboard supports SATA or SATA II you should go with that, it's transfers at around 3gb a second, compared to that of around 133mb for IDE. SATA is around 1.5gb/s. I currently run 2 80GB SATA II Seagates; one for OS and applications, the 2nd for Sonar project files. I have a 3rd...
Hi I have a few questions I'm sure you guys could help me with. I know CD audio is 16/44, so my CD songs I've been recording at 24/44. I'm also trying to get into film and video scoring and was curious what format those are in. I thought I heard DVD's are 24/96 so I'm assuming most video...
Thanks for all the advice! My next question is how would the signal chain go? Would it be preamp, converter, recording unit? Also, what connections would you use? Last question! Let's say I'm using like my Da-2496 which has that all in one, would I even be able to hook up an external...
Thanks again for the help. I ended up buying a nVidia 6200 TurboThread... it was the cheapest thing in PCI-e format on pricewatch.com ($38). According to nVidia it will support dual wide screen's. I've heard pretty mixed reviews on it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks!
Positive, no feedback. I've shut everything off except the comp and speakers and it still does it. One thing I haven't tried is turning the computer off too. That might narrow it down to the integrated sound.
It's definetly the wiring, I've tried a few different cords and the humming goes away when you touch the metal part of 1/4" output jack. I'll take it apart. Am I going to most likely have to resolder (however you spell that) some connections? Thanks!
Also, what do you mean by negative...
Yea it's integrated into the mother board and it never used to do it until I switched back to XP. Guess I'll just deal with it until I get my monitors. Any other suggestions?
