so what do you suggest I do with the live guitar sound?

when recording guitar if you are close mic'ing it would it really make a difference if you were in small room or a big room?

mmk that sounds simple enough the way I record drums now is with 7 mics for my overheads I use the xy position but for the room treat ment could you suggest a cheap method but nice and effective way of going about this instead of paying a bunch of money for foam?

lol the drummer they had wasn't that good he actually moved I took his spot lol I will upload so stuff when we start tracking again but any advice on how to get rid of the live sound?

I don't know any other way to explain it so I am hoping you guys will know what I mean. I was listening to my mixes and some of the one from other studio and my got this live sound to then and I don't know how to get rid of it. lol I know this is probably a stupid queston but I have to learn...

Roguetitan wow man that was a great answer thanks for taking the time:) and didgijimmy I am using cakewalk sonar 6 but are you saying the eq would have one in it?

I have had some people tell me I should us a high pass filter can someone please explain what it does I got one now but the only thing I can get it to do is make werid noises

thanks everyone and the reason I am and wanting to get a sound like that is because alot of bands in my area play music close to that so I am trying to get the sound that the people are wanting ..maybe if I was to put one sm57 close to the edge of the speaker on the cone and a condenser left...

and also how are you recording are you using a usb interface or what?

need a little more info like what type of mic are you using..and I am not following you about hearing it when the track is not armed if your channel on your interface is not muted you are going to hear it.as far as that goes I'd say that you aren't really having any problems there

I do double the tracks so I got the stereo guitars but I just feel like they aren't big enough I know that I am not giving much info but basically I want my guitars to sound like this

the best thing is to get a di box there is also and art tube preamp that is 3 around 30 bucks I think it cleans the bass up really well for me gives me that clarity

I have tried some reverb but it kinda makes it stand farther away from the mix but I don't know I will mess around some more and see what I can do .Thanks

make sure you post it on here when you do I am still trying to figure out out to make my mixes bigger

is there some special way to go about getting a big sounding guitar.I have eq'd the guitar and it sounds good but still not big and lively enough for the mix..I don't know how else to explain it but is there any pointers I could get?:confused::confused:
