Stubborn farm girl in La Wally

Good points, guys- but shouldn't you be directing those comments towards her? Perhaps- maybe even likely- she is merely being a publicity hound (being careful to not use another word more modern in it's use- we are talking about a young girl, here) but Elena might change her ways once she knows...

Did you ever want to be a professional in the music biz ?

My two cents... Started taking guitar lessons and playing when I was 10, and did it because I wanted to have a rock n roll band. Yeah, I must have thought of it as what I wanted to do for a living. 'Course, didn't happen that way- I've been a "professional" musician from time to time...

Yeah, but its not a real song, because you did it on your computer!

Music/Queen - Television Tropes & Idioms That's a Queen song? :) Wait, I am confused. Are sound engineers creatures or creators? And are they non-music(al) or NOT non-musical? Is being "NOT non-musical" the same as being musical? Is it possible that they are BOTH, or ALL of those things?

    Gibson Firebird X....why, oh why?

IMHO, Gibson is all about just sellin' guitars for as much as they possibly can, and any gimmick is fair game. Riding on their reputation, it seems. Innovation is does by other companies- I think Line 6 and Peavey are doing that better than Gibson, keeping the tradition alive is handled...

Stubborn farm girl in La Wally

as I'd been away from HR for quite a while, I wondered if you were still here, Elena- glad to see you back. But... I wonder if your talents are perhaps wasted, singing to recorded backing tracks and posting here? It is a wide, wonderful world out there- Now, all I know of you, I see here, but...

Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

I appreciate all the input, here. That said, turning the discussion to the Classic 30 is a little beside the point- not that I mind, you understand, just sayin'. I like that amp, too- the only thing I'd change would be cosmetics of the Delta Blues 210; I prefer the narrow front look of the C30...

Westinghouse 6V6 Tubes A Waste In Super Champ XD?

Recently scored a pair of Westinghouse USA_made 6V6 tubes I got in a grab-bag of tubes- the bunch cost me something stupid like fifty cents. Turns out the Westinghouses both tested out at 90 on the same tube tester, so I am taking them as a matched set. I have two amps (I own others, they...

Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

No pics, but imagine a standard VTX 212 cab, with a Bandit chassis in place of the original. We are not going for special looking, just good-enough looks and drop-dead reliability.

What is the reason for the detachable power cords on amps?

Hmmm... thinking... thinking... smoke coming from my ears... Nope. I got nothing.

Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

I like the Classic 30/Delta Blues, too- but as you surmised, we need dead reliability- the Bandit with 100-watt speakers should solve our reliability problems for both amp and speakers.

    Fun story from work today

Just the opposite seems to happen with us, at least with instrument cables- D.J. has harvested a bumper crop of 'em from guys leaving them behind, and I have a life-time supply from just two years of being gear provider to Rock n' Roll summer camps. But pedals- THEY walk. So much so neither of...

What is the reason for the detachable power cords on amps?

TIP: Second-hand stores always have several in stock, usually for about a buck. What I never see is a UPC cord that has a right-angle on BOTH ends. And if I found one, it would no doubt angle the wrong way.

What is the reason for the detachable power cords on amps?

Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians? A: A drummer.

    Splitting a humbucker

just to chime in, I think you are wise to install just one spit-able pup. I own a Westone Thunder 1A, it has THREE mini switches for active on/off, HB split and HB tap. Frankly, with the three switches, three knobs and three-way switch, it is too many options- I get lost in all the options and...

    Amp advice needed

Wow- you were pretty quick to pull the trigger, fritsthegirl. I was going to suggest the Fender SCXD (newer model with slightly different name now out,) but it appears to be too late. Not ragging on Gerg's suggestion (I have no experience with that amp, sure it's good) but I just wonder if it...

    NGD! Hagstrom D2F!

Popped into Sam Ash before Christmas and found this lefty on the wall. Got it stupid cheap, even tho it was at a retailer. Greg at Atlanta Vintage Guitars (shameless plug) says the neck will never warp as it's got an I-beam or H-beam truss rod; I can set it action as low as I want. Some cool...

Does anyone recognise this old guitar tailpiece?

Looks like a micro-adjustable Bendmaster, but I am going from memory- had that bridge on a Westone that I sold last year (bought for $70, played for 10 years, sold for $300.)
