    Any Soldano users?

Reasonable yeah but definitely not apartment levels. I have another amp, a Bray JTM45, that sounds awesome clean to distorted and is only about 40 watts. I think I have some tracks of it in my Sig. It'll get much heavier than what I've tracked. IMO it would be a worthy investment. Here's a...

    distortion guitar problems

I don't hear any feedback by my definition of feedback. I do hear the chord just left on its own with maybe a bit of resonating on the bottom end but nothing unusual or that I wouldn't handle by string muting either with my picking hand or fretting hand.

Sorry. Had to read the OP again. What Speakers? Cab? Impedance Head/Cab matched? Are you using a speaker cable Head to Cabinet? Back down the Bass and Resonance. Using a OD like a OD-808 or TS-9.

    THD Hot Plate...???

This^^^^ It won't be the panacea you're hoping for. It's a good tool but it has its limitations. Maybe post a clip of your 5150 that's lacking. What speakers are you recording?

    Post Hardcore Guitar Mic Placement

Here's a quick spin with your test3 clip and some EQ Peaking 720Hz 5db Width 2.9 Hi Shelving 13KHz 19db Q 0.242 About mid ways the EQ is bypassed a short bit for comparison. IMO the fundamentals of your tone are there. I'm not saying stop honing your micing skills, but you may not be as...

do you spot mic placement by moving side-to-side to-and-fro and listen or are you spotting mic position by sight? as for a V30, I wouldn't buy one unless your amp is suited. It can be an awesome speaker with the right head and sound like ass with the wrong head. Any friends with a V30 cab you...

    High end

Never use an instrument cable to connect the speaker and especially a 30ft one. Get yourself a 16ga (minimum) speaker cable.

    Ohms, Ohms, Ohms!

Since it's a 16ohm cab it can be wired 4 ohms mono. a 4x12 that is 16ohm either has 4ohm speakers or 16ohms speakers. my bet is the speakers are 16ohm. in either case the cab can be wired to 4ohms mono.

    Any Soldano users?

I've owned a Legacy for some time and the tone comes across to me as fairly dark and definitely thick. I'm not going on rumor but my experience with the amp. For that reason IMO the Legacy is a better lead amp than rhythm whereas the SLO excels at both. I also own an SLO and IMO these aren't...

    Any Soldano users?

Hum, IDK about that. The Legacy is awfully dark and thick and nothing like a SLO. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime soon.
