What issue does turning down the gain solve? I understand setting the gain for the desired tone or for context, but not blanket statements about reducing gain.

DI from the guitar? DI from the Amps's Line Out? The gtr DI is thin sounding? Correct, but make sure you use a speaker cable from the amp to Red Box. You'll still need the speaker connected or a dummy load. Depending, the attenuator can take the place of the speaker. e.g. Hot Plate on Load...

There's nothing to suppose here. Two independent recordings of the type to which you're referring have no phase coherence, therefore cannot be in or out of phase with each other. I'm guessing but probably the reason it gets better is the signals are summed resulting in a mono signal.

The reason the two are out of phase is because they were never in phase. Two independent recordings have no phase coherence to begin with. Any phase coherence is totally happenstance. The Wikipedia item that you referenced is not applicable for this example. It would be applicable for two...

I have a pair of ET65s. Very nice sounding speakers, but they also seem to have difficulty finding a permanent home in a cab. Visit sig to hear them in action.

There's more options than over the kit placement. Ribbons do really good things to cymbals. IMO the econo Fat Heads will give you significantly better results over alternative econo SDC or LDC.

What type of tone are you after? I'm confused about your relating reamping and timing. Are you slicing, dicing and time shifting the DI? I have some time available to reamp. See Sig.

What are you connecting it to that you need to do this? I assume the amp's power plug is not keyed (One prong larger than the other?) If you're not going to have the amp wired with a three prong plug, plug in the amp. Connect the audio input to whatever input source. If you are getting hum...
