What Headphones to use to remove click sound when recording?

This should significantly lower the bleed... EX-29 (Extreme Isolation) Headphones EQ the Click to a more sensitive hearing range so you can lower the click level.

    Metal mix test

Yeah. The gtr as recorded. All I was referring to is getting it the best possible, up front, for the context. Just a bit of EQ here and there. For distorted gtr, I always EQ out several DB at 2350 hz, narrow BW. Those frequencies hurt my ears.

Ha, quite the comedian you are. Thanks for the kind words.

    Metal mix test

There's no substitute for getting it right when tracking. IMO it's a bit fizzy but not overly. When the tone is scooped like yours, the top end will pop out and maybe seem overbearing on its own, but in context it may work. Is this better or worse... lightsandshapes_mmt.mp3

    Recording distorted guitars

What do I do if after I've turned it down 1/3 it sounds thin and weak and the tone's lost its balls and attack?

The M90 is a lot like the Legacy with the dark and dense tone. Thanks for checking...

    Slo

Thanks. Yeah I have a Legacy that I really like. I find it better for leads work though. The rhythm tones seem a bit stiff and dark, whereas this seems to fit the bill for leads.

Several years ago I removed the Xfrmr in two 57's. IMO, the difference is a shade better.

How do I record some decent guitar tracks for my metal band?

It's often the first and only recommendation and put out as the fix of fixes. I track metal gtr often and the gain should be set for context, not as a fix.

How do I record some decent guitar tracks for my metal band?

Don't fall for the Lower gain than Live is Required BS. This really isn't the place to ask about Metal Tonage... head over to the Sneap Forum on Ultimate Metal
