    It ain't going to happen. There's no sync on the CD to lock the VR to. CD's don't have a time code on them. There are other ways perhaps. What are you trying to do? Terry

    Hmmm....it doesn't work for me. I can record audio fine but not record the MIDI file in the open arrange windo to the Audio track in the same arrange window.....SB AWE 64 card....not the greatest but it should work. Terry

    How do we know whether sync is from ADAT? The VR800 use's word clock to scynec to the mixer (VM200) so what will sync to the computer if the card has word clock Terry

    How much RAM and what is your Hard Drive? If the Audio data is plenty.....many tracks high sample rate then you need lots of RAM otherwise you're writting and getting data from the HD SCSI drives used to be the fastest....not true with the new DMA bus....However, not all MB support the DMA...

    A mixer is always nice.....not needed except for getting the Analog signal into the computer.....A/D convertor. There are A/D convertors available.....check Frontier Designs, Echo, etc. For mixing this is less important....mix software (Sonic Foundrys, SoundScape, products, etc.) usually...

    I don't know n tracks but I would think: Set N tracks to record mode....set synce as computer slave.... Go into record mode....you'll probably get some message saying waiting for sync.... start Fostex and computer should start.... The Sync will probably have to be MIDI or SMPTE I don't think...
