Omfg...a $15k effects processor...that is insane...
Too bad none of the Kurzweil processors have expression pedal controllable effects parameters. That'd freaking rock. I'd get one and use it with my guitar amp all the time.
Sort of, but better. Little guys like you probably shouldn't know about this stuff, though. ;)
Btw, if you are going that cheap with drum mics, you would probably be better off with two decent overhead mics than trying to get a mic on every tom. That isn't really necessary, and is probably a...
That is very possible. Try all the speakers. They likely will sound different when you are micing that close. Also, the more you move towards the outer edge of the speaker, the thinner it will probably sound. The sound is generally thicker and bassier in the very center of the cone, so...
I don't know much about what you were talking about there, but if it was a MS1 B, then that is all you need to know.
The other models were the MS1 and MS1a.
The only people I've really seen saying much about them own them and have plenty to compare them to, so I wouldn't be too worried about a...
Ok, you talked about trying different distances with positioning, but what about placement on the speaker? Were you just sticking it some random spot, or did you try putting it really close up against the center of the cone, and going from there? You also should get your cab off the ground.
Yeah, I don't know about that. The 603s cost more if you got them MATCHED. Who knows...
They don't even have the specs for them on the MXL website, and it has been months.
So does a person's perception of frequencies, as shown in those charts, explain why (atleast when you are listening to something loud) more mids will often sound bad, less than normal will sound good, some more highs will sound better, and lots of bass will sound really good?
Try and get your money back.
Oktava is notorious for absolutely horrendous QC. The guy probably bought a dud without testing it, and then tried to sell it off.
That's why I won't touch those things on Ebay, even if it is virtually the only way I could ever get any without spending a fortune.
The acoustic and electric guitar samples sound nice. I don't get why they didn't say exactly what mic they compared it to on the electric guitar recording, though, although you would assume they mean a SM57.
Too bad they don't have a drum overhead recording.
Amazing. A negative SoS review! I can't remember any I've read that didn't look at things from a positive point of view.
I did think it was freaking weird that they didn't review the 8.2s, or both of them.
Aren't those Alesis monitors like $200 more?
Because good monitors tell you what you are doing a lot better, and will translate to whatever else you actually listen to music on correctly.
If you mix on computer speakers, it will only sound that way on your computer speakers. You will also be missing things that your computer speakers are...
Uh he said he needs a pre on a budget. Now I don't know how much it actually costs, but the tfpro p2's list is $1,099, so the p3 is likely several hundred.
Also, it's not even listed on the website, and I couldn't find anywhere that sells it.
You might try a Studio Projects VTB-1...
