250 for refurbished?? I got my firebox a few weeks ago at my local guitar center for 250, brand new on sale. Anyways...... i cant say if it would be better than the fast track cuz i never used it, but i think you would definitely be upgrading since the firebox is firewire, and allows for up to 6...
not sure about the Firepod, but i have the presonus Firebox and it has 2 line inputs without the built in preamps, so i just use those inputs if i'm gonna be using external preamps. Just a thought.... can you turn the gain on the built in preamps down and just use your external preamps??
I have a little fender amp and use the headphone out to my presonus firebox line input to get some decent home recordings. Havent had any problems yet, and if anything, the amp serves as a good "preamp" on my interface input that doesnt have a instrument preamp. I just add effects and amp...
My pc is a P4 2.80 ghz, 512 ram. I was recording 3 tracks simultaneously to my DAW (magix music studio 11) and when i was done i got a message that said the recording was complete but with 2 errors and that it "lost 1 ASIO buffer". I have played back my tracks several times and cannot hear any...
good discussion, i too am interested in this question for future reference. For the little "demo" cd i am working on, i plan on doing the hit em hard approach for the first couple songs which are a pretty fast tempo, then slowly mellow out a bit, and probably put the "hit" last.
on this note.... anybody know of good "countryish" drum samples pack? or free loops?? would really add to my music just nicely as rockabilly of the 1950's and country are kinda tied in. Thanks
I use the Firebox. Find it very easy to use and works very well with my DAW for recording 4 tracks at once. I too am thinking about the firepod just to have more preamps, but i find that the preamps on the firebox seem kinda weak when using a mic to record acoustic guitar. Other than that, i...
thanks to all the tips i've gotten here, i am now on my way to nailing down that drum track for one of my songs. I have been able to create the main part along with the little interlude middle part, as our part time drummer would play when we play live little sessions. It is coming out pretty...
our music doesnt use drums. We use an upright bass as our rhythm/percussion. 1950's style. You know, we never have used a metronome. Im a newbie at that. I've messed with one before, but it kinda throws me off cuz i tend to "play along" with the little click rhythm, which is not what i am trying...
Thanks for the info ssscientist. This is actually my first post about using midi/daw drums. I use Magix Music Studio 11. The beat box it has is a big square grid thing with a bunch of little squares that you fill in with the drum sound of choice. You start filling in the "little squares" with...
thanks for the info..........yeah, its the mg8fx. Each channel has a I/O iack besides the XLR or line jack. So I would just run a 1/4 cable from the I/O jack to the inputs on my inerface, with my mics connected to the XLR on each channel of my mixer?I would be monitoring through the outs of my...
might be the wrong forum........ My yamaha mixer has 4 preamps on it, which i find pretty decent. Is it possible to connect my mics into each preamp on the mixer and then connect each channel seperately to the four inputs on my Presonus firebox interface?? it only has 2 preamps and not the...
not sure if this would be the right forum, but here it goes. I wanna add drums to my songs. My DAW has some beat box/drum machines on it. I have tried several times to try to program a beat to match my songs, but to no avail. And i also am trying to make it as real as possible, you know, not...
i agree......if you are used to something already and its doing the job, i would stick with it. Ive tried playing with cubase and just cant seem to like it, but doesnt mean i wont try any other software cuz i know i will :D
my DAW, i can change the tempo of a song and then adjust the pitch/tone to match the tempo, whether its slow or fast. But i agree with Bennychico..... once you alter to drastically, it does start to sound a bit wierd
ok, maybe somebody helping newbies can give me some tips..........I use a presonus firebox as my interface along with Magix audio studio as my software. Everything works fine when i am overdubbing to a previously recorded track. There is no audible latency as i am recording my guitar part and...
