My band - ASPHALT JUNKIE - live

i listened to Outlaw Lover and the Scissors song. Nice Power drummin man. The guitars have a good thick sound to it as well. The vocal style/voice not really my cup of tea. Kinda reminds me of the 80's hair bands, but musically you guys sound pretty damn good bro.

    Psycho and Outlaw Heartbreak

got 2 tunes up. One is called Your Mistake (save the jokes! :D ), which is hard, guitar heavy, dark psychobilly type tune. The other is called Thats a Lie, which is a more melodic, outlaw heartbreak type song. Link in my sig. Please listen and enjoy/hate :)

Trying to get a kick/bass to work together!

I am trying to get a kick drum and upright bass to sit more cleanly together in a mix. At times it seems pretty muddy and messy. What is the best way to do this? I don't wanna pan an upright bass left or right too much because it is the backbone rhythm and I think it should be pretty much...

Signs of a bad hard disc?

I don't think it has a defrag function but I will check the manual. Out of the 40 gigs on it i've only used about 5 gigs. I only use it like once a month when we have a full band recording session.

    Best Freeware IR Reverb

Dickie..... I use sir for post recording of DI'd guitar tracks with some cab impulse files. I don't use it in real time. But yes, you still have to adjust all other tracks that you aren't using SIR on. The latency is 8960 samples, so adjust all the other tracks accordingly. Your DAW should have...

    Best Freeware IR Reverb

Gotta go with Sir. Just make sure you adjust your projects to compensate for the samples latency. Does anybody know where to get some good IR files? Everything I see is mostly weird stuff like stone temples, asylums and crap like that.

Do you really buy that expensive recording software?

Is this the record for the longest thread? Anyways...... I never have used illegally obtained software. Sometimes I blow all of my paycheck (except for bill money of course) on music software and gear, but I am like 99.9% sure that everybody here has at least 1 "illegal" software or mp3 on...

Signs of a bad hard disc?

Now that you mention it..... The tracks that sound a bit glitchy are the final 2 songs we recorded in our session after about 2 hrs. It might have heated up a bit? Good thing I do back up everything right away.

Signs of a bad hard disc?

Just wondering if any of you guys that use a hard disc recorder know the signs of a possible hard drive failure? I use a korg d888 as our recorder then transfer to pc. I just noticed from a quick session today that the vocal track seems really glitchy in parts throughout the track. It sounds...

    DC power for effect processor?

Thanks for the tips mshilarious. I picked up a universal adapter for the same price as the OEM plug but it is more worth it cuz of all the voltage selections it has and came with several different tips as well. My POD works fine with it and now I can get back to work :)

    DC power for effect processor?

Thanks for the answer. The only other thing the manual said was that its a center negative?

    DC power for effect processor?

I just picked up the new pocket pod to mess with some recording ideas. I noticed that it needs a 9v 200ma DC power supply. Does that mean it has to be the exact specs? Or can it be like a 9v 300ma adapter? I don't wanna spend on the line 6 plug when I can go to radio shack and get one for like...

    FFT tutorials/FAQ?

So an fft filter really isn't necessary? What are the benefits of it? What's the difference between a HPF/LPF in a parametric eq and an fft filter? I usually use the filters in the parametric eq to cut out any lows below 30 or so.

    FFT tutorials/FAQ?

Thanks for the links. I'll check it out. The thing I hate about my fft is that the GUI doesn't list the frequencies across the bottom so I am not too sure what frequencies I would be cutting and or boosting. I'm guessing that most probably go from 20 to 20000?

    FFT tutorials/FAQ?

My daw has a fft eq on it that I usually use for finished songs. It let's me copy an eq curve from any song (commercial CD) and add it to my mixes and then I just tweak the main EQ to taste. Is there any sites or anybody here on the forum that have a good explanation on how to use an fft eq? I...

Need advice on bass cabs please!

We ended up getting an 8ohm 200 watt GK 1x15 cab. I think that's gonna do the trick. Our amp obviously aint powering it to its capability but we'll upgrade the amp soon. Thanks for the advice.

Need advice on bass cabs please!

The volume isn't the problem. It seems the cab we use picks up the loudness and the slaps pretty good but we can't "feel" the bass line. If we eq some more low end, the speakers start sounding distorted. We just need a boost in the low rumble factor. These are our specs on the bass gear: a...

Need advice on bass cabs please!

We don't do any live club/venue gigs. Just our jam sessions in our garage and backyard party type stuff. Would our amp power our two 10's and just one 15? We use our pa only for vocals as its only 100 watts x2.
