    15 inch speakers?

Maybe a stupid question, but I've got a cabinet of 4 speakers. I measure the speakers at 27 cm each. Now how many inches are those speakers now?

    drums

You don't have to stick to FL-samples. Load your own samples in FL! FL is flexibel enough to make realistic swinging drums!

    Fruity Loops - Using Effects

Here’s how it works in Fruity Loops 3: Click on the track, choose an effect-channel (top-right). Go to effects, choose the same effects-channel. Then apply an effect.

    Advice needed on soundcard !

That sounds good! Are there more nice priced soundcards around?

    Advice needed on soundcard !

OK, Sound Blaster might not be the real stuff, but probably it's the only one that fits my budget... Here's my dilemma: an Audigy 2 platinum or an Extigy. I know the platinum performs better, but I hate crawling on the floor round my desk(?)top to change cables etc. The Extigy would fit better...

    Loops CD's ?

Mick Fleetwood would it be, then. I'll give it a try. Do the samples have a '70's feeling'? 'cos that's the drumsound i really like.

    Loops CD's ?

Just make project-folders. Keep everything related to that song in 1 folder, including the samples. And if you think the song is ready or if you 're getting tired of the song, just save it to a CD-ROM. And OK, ripping samples of CD's is creative, but it's very hard to find proper samples of...

    wierd problem

Not an unknown problem… Look what Spinsterwun said: START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>ENTERTAINMENT>VOLUME CONTROL>OPTIONS>PROPERTIES>RECORDING>OK. And what 2rain said: RIGHT CLICK THE LITTLE SPEAKER ON YOUR TASK BAR, AND THEN "ADJUST AUDIO PROPERTIES"(WIN98)... THEN CLICK ON THE RECORDING ICON...

    Fruity Loops Filters

In FL a filter can only be applied to a sequence of samples/loops, with each sample/loop given a specific value. In this way you can change the envelope. That's one of the shortcomings of FL: effects like panning, eq. or filters can only be applied to the ‘buttons’ in the pattern (and if I’m...

    clipping.....!

I don't know how things work in Acid, and I don’t know what causes the popping, but a rough slicing of the sample/loop might be the problem. A trick that works good for me (in Sound Forge) is to ‘soften’ the beginning and the end of the sample: by a ultra-short fade in at the beginning, and a...

    Storage Space

Well, I don't. But if things get to extensive it might be a good idea. Usually I name the files in a convenient way, and also the extensions help me to arrange the files.

    Storage Space

The loop will, but not the samples on which the loop is based. That's what i mean. I usualy create loops form samples in FL. Then I import them in Sonar. If I ever want to alter the loop, I have to do that in FL and sometimes might want to alter the samples also.

Not if I use loops created in FL that are base on seperate samples...

    Loops CD's ?

Well, SPINSTERWUN. There are loads and loads of cheap or second hand CD's available. Every CD contains nice sounds. And, hey, then we have sound editors !! That's the part I love: restructuring samples and loops. And therefor dafduc, you can hardly recognise the samples I use. The problem is...

    Storage Space

Hi bradpenuel, After 2 days off back online again... Making bundles is indeed the way to include all the wave-files used in your song. But apart from this option I think it's still recommended to create separate folders for each song. That’s where you save all files related to that song. Makes...

    Storage Space

My solution is to store each song on a CD-ROM. That includes everything related to that song: the samples, the SONAR-files, the parts created with other devices (FL, Rebirth), the masterfile, etc. Adding capacity may help for a while, but not with a continuous output of comprehensive sonic...

    Loops CD's ?

What's the fun of loops CD's? To me it's like a microwave meal. I prefer ripping mighty drumsounds, cool brasses, heavy basses and other cool audio-bits from CD's. That might be a bit more labor-intensive, but the results are 'warm' and 'real'. Sound forge is an excellent tool for refining the...

    Combining SONAR & Fruity Loops

Great! 'cos that's what I also want to do this way: adding some nice guitar and bass parts to my down-tempo creations.

    Combining SONAR & Fruity Loops

Those little rascals at Image-Line Software. I was about to give up SONAR and change to Cubase... And lee miran, does the trick work? I mean mastering FL-tracks in Sonar?

    Combining SONAR & Fruity Loops

Thanks, Moskus. That was the tip I needed. FL saved the tracks acidized. Now I'm ready to master the stuff!
