I agree. I use it for my bass and it works excellent. But it seems that not all the Behringer-stuff is OK. The reviews on the Virtualizer are very bad.

Hey square1,
You don't have to stick on the FL-samples. Just load your own drumkits in FL and you've got a very flexible drumsampler. This way I can create some very good and realistic drums in FL!
I not only use SF for mastering, but also for editing tracks that I've recorded in Cubase. In that way SF is also a perfect combination for a multitracker/sequencer. Especially because the wave-editor in Cubase SX is a bit "spartan".
At this time the dollar is very low for us Europeans. So buying gear in the US could really make a bargain. But I hesitate to buy a bass online. I can play similar guitars in my shop nextdoor and figure out if it sounds and feels good, but still ...
What would you do?
Thank you guys,
I'm afraid I'm not the type of Bassplayer who can play evenly. So I will take your advise to track the bass with some compression. I also think that it will make me feel more comfortable.
But StevaReno, what's cakewalk tape sim you were talkin' about?
I always play bass with compression on. But for recording bass, it is best to play as dry as possible (without effects). Is this also the case for compression? Should I record a compressed bass or should I aply the compression after the recording? Any suggestions?
I'm thinking of buying a 5-string bass. Though my budget is restricted. I've seen a reasonable priced 5 string OLP, and the reviews on the net are OK. Does anybody have an opinion on this bass?Or are there similar alternatives?
