First midi controller $150 Need Help on Present Selection

Tell me again why you would have to go USB or Firewire? The Audigy has midi in/out doesn't it? My SB Live does...

    Drum Panning - Advice?

Maybe follow your overheads? Kick and snare are generally center... With your overheads panned out, where do the toms fall? Place your toms in relation to this.

    Need An Inexpensive Keyboard

That M-Audio thing looks like it's a good deal... I'd only be using it with my computer so I don't need all the Patterns and accompaniments and such. I've also come to like M-Audio in general.

    Need An Inexpensive Keyboard

Cool, thanks for the suggestion... Yeah I'd mainly just be using this to do simple input into my computer for further editing, I am not a keyboard player, but it's easier to just plink around on a keyboard than to hand place the notes in a sequencer. Plus then maybe I'd actually remember what I...

    Need An Inexpensive Keyboard

The only features really I care about are, Touch sensitive keys and General MIDI output. I don't need any frills, don't particularly care how it actually sounds... While I'd like it to sound decent, I dont NEED it to... If I actually used any of the sounds, I'd likely effect them into oblivion...

    drum sequencing...All opinions please

My drummer would kill me if he knew that I try to patch stuff up. I can't do it too much though, he'd know if I did a lot. I've brought up the idea of using replacement sounds and he won't have any of it. It's always "It's not me" or "Then why do I even bother recording?" I've managed to sneak...

    Copying DLL.files to CD

The file extension... is the type of file... for instance if the DLL was for Battery... It would be Battery.dll Change it to Battery.dl$ Burn the file to the disk... Put it on the new computer... Change the file back to Battery.dll Or use a 3.5" Floppy. :)

Yeah... I'm hoping I can track some "fatter" sounding snare and kick tracks this way. I've always gotten much "fatter" recordings on the 424.
