I think I might have my "issues" sorted out. I'll let ya's know later for sure, when I know for sure. Altruist - you're right. This is something that was not included (apparently, not overlooked) in the latest versions of SX. There is, understandably, some griping about it. I saw (I think...

How to diagnose a bad processor?

Thanks, Toki! I'll remember that. I discovered late last night, despite being certain that neither my wife nor I installed any software since changing the cmos battery, that our baby-sitter from across the street intalled MSN, and with it, some program "loadqm.exe" that seems to do nothing...

How to diagnose a bad processor?

Actually, it IS just for other "home stuff" like surfing the net and what not. I used to get about 24 tracks of 24bit audio on it, though. :D Anyway... I changed the CMOS battery, and it all worked good as new - for about a day and a half. Now it's worse than ever. :( The clock is about...

    SX2 installed - now Delta 1010 doesn't work??!!

Heard back from M-Audio Still struggling. I heard back from M-Audio, and they are saying it is a Cubase SX2 problem. Make sure I have the latest patches for Cubase (duh, that's what started this whole fiasco...), and download the latest service pack - SP1A - for WinXP. Apparently it resolves...

    SX2 installed - now Delta 1010 doesn't work??!!

awwww.....more problems!!! Still no word back from M-Audio.... grrrr..... I set up a new project into SX2, and imported an instrumental stereo track to sing over. I selected Delta inputs 1 and 2 to record with (one direct mic and one room mic). Throughout the recording, the music kept dropping...

is there a BIG difference between a sbLive and recording card?

Aw....geez.... I'm going to spend the afternoon finding everyone I don't agree with and put *them* on *my* ignore list. I'll have the longest ignore list on the *whole* BBS. Every time in the future I don't agree with someone.... BOOM!!..... ignore list for you, buddy!!  From...

And now for something completely different.... for me....

Sorry... been away a few days. Got eaten by the "work trolls" and some new struggles with the SX2 installation. Anyway... Sonic - I've got more samples than I know what to do with - lots of the Wizoo stuff in there. Yeah, what I was referring to was the part about "I think that the mix can...

Is there a source for discerning whether a band name one has chosen is already taken?

    See "WAY alternate scenario" above.

How to diagnose a bad processor?

Okay, big thanks, folks! I can change the bios battery no prob. Easy fix. Yeah, I rather recently re-formatted C: and re-installed Win98. Made squat difference. The registry should be in pretty good shape, considering the recent install. No, I don't monitor temps. I don't know what to...

How to diagnose a bad processor?

Hi there; My recording system runs great. Our other computer is experiencing technical difficulties, and I'm wondering if it might be the processor. It's about 4 years old, and it has been put through its paces all along. Here are some of the symptoms: - system "pauses" occasionally, up to...

    SX2 installed - now Delta 1010 doesn't work??!!

Hey, daf! Yeah, I downloaded the latest driver from M-Audio, and I'm using the most up-to-date release of Cubase. (SX2.01.10 - posted Oct 27/03). I think I'm up and working sufficiently to post some feedback on the new beast this weekend. Speaking of V5, apparently some of the midi features...

    SX2 installed - now Delta 1010 doesn't work??!!

Thanks, Emeric! I did all that except for uninstalling/reinstalling Cubase itself. In my other searches, though, I found what sort of amounts to a solution. It is checking the ASIO multimedia driver through the Delta 1010, which doesn't get used anyway when using Cubase, so it doesn't matter...

    SX2 installed - now Delta 1010 doesn't work??!!

I just received my upgrade from SX1 to SX2. It installed fine, routinely went to the ASIO test, and now I get an error message that says "errorcode ff8-5-000c - device could not be opened." This refers only to the output devices, as when I check buffer size, run simulations for the input...

Re: Hey Chris!! Hey, Sonic! This is exactly the sort of thing I was hoping someone would offer suggestions regarding. Is there anything in particular you had in mind that you could direct me towards?? Chris

And now for something completely different.... for me....

Okay.... it's posted. Go to the same link - it's pretty apparent - Bye Bye - update1. I tweaked the EQ and the reverb on the "room vocal" track, as described above. I was going to try the SIR reverb (VERY nice, BTW... and FREE!!) but it brought my computer to its knees with the given demands...

And now for something completely different.... for me....

Dragonworks- Thanks! The harmonies were overdubs. Emeric - I've changed the EQ on the vocal a bit, and did some other tweaking there. It's getting better. I just discovered the SIR reverb plug-in. :D This gives me a perfect excuse to try it! Pedullist - I lowered the "thumpy" dance kick...

And now for something completely different.... for me....

Hey, thanks alot (already!) folks! DrStawl - Thanks for checking it out. Sorry it wasn't available yet. BSanfordNYC - I recorded the lead vocal with one mic straight on and with another omni mic back about three feet. I added reverb to the room mic and left the first mic dry with only a...
