    Delighted

I'm also a guitar player, but when I program midi I use the Piano Roll (basically just a virtual keyboard, but with visuals for length of note, velocity, etc). I can't play keyboard, but I know the notes. So if I want a C chord, I just draw in C E G with the appropriate length (full measure...

    Help Me Understand

She’s not my granddaughter, but certainly possible. She apparently has mentioned that she played some songs for her friends and they liked them and asked where they could listen. Hence the Spotify posting. Still puzzling why the one song though. I imagine if she shared it would be a link to...

    Help Me Understand

Thanks. I suspect with this stuff some of it is self-fulfilling. In other words the more hits a track gets, the more it is likely to end up in Spotify’s recommendation algorithm. So success breeds success. Like they say, the first $ million is the hardest. ?

    Help Me Understand

I’ve been recording music for quite awhile now (25-ish years). Always been just a hobby with me. Too old to really go anywhere with it anyway for the most part. But recently one of my bandmate’s granddaughter (yes, granddaughter, lol) posted several of our tracks on Spotify. One of the tracks...

    "Fallin'"

Bass a bit too trebly. Probably what you going for, but maybe a tad too much. Chorus is catchy. The instruments all sound ok, but they don't all seem like they're all playing in the same room. I think they could all be brought closer together (vocal too),. These are nits, overall all quite...

    A mini Beatles medley/tribute.

Pretty ballsy taking on the Beatles. Kudos. Well done. Ending left me a little hanging, lol. Mix is good. Vocals are good. Everything in its place. Nice.

A midi keyboard, a few Kontakt instruments and a vocal sample...

Cool. I made a recording many years ago which used a midi guitar from Kompakt - sort of a mini version of Kontakt IIRC. Anyway your guitar sounded exactly like that. Since they’re both from NI, I’m guessing it’s the same sample.

A midi keyboard, a few Kontakt instruments and a vocal sample...

I like this. Quite listenable. Not sure how it was put together, but good job. Maybe a little too much highs on the guitars, but it's a real nit. Are the guitars midi?

    Nothing Remains

Thanks. I do have other (limited) midi samples for the drums. I’ll play around with it and see what I can come up with. Yeah, I wanted a reverby harp, but maybe I can back off a tad. ? Work to do, I guess.

    Manslick - Come Home

I'm with spantini on this one. Not crazy about the intro, but around :38 it gets very nice. Catchy. Pleasant to listen to. Keep at it.

    Nothing Remains

Actually I probably agree. But I got nothing at the moment. Just not hearing anything.

    Nothing Remains

Good feedback. I posted an updated mix - although it's probably not the final one. You made me realize the keys and the harmonica were both panned to the right. So I moved the harmonica to the left. I alsao lowered the right acoustic - I figured that would help balance the left, and maybe...

Everyone needs a dirge in their life on occasion. :)

    Nothing Remains

So I'm a little buzzed right now - consequently this is probably sounding better to me than it might otherwise. But you guys will cure that. I'm sure. :) Essentially this is pretty much a live recording. Except that the initial mix had a DI guitar. We deleted that and re-tracked two mic'd...

NightError … new original tune (rock, alternative, soft punk?!)

Pleasant to listen to. Everything is clear and distinct. Intro is a tad long.

Feedback on my Mix/Master... I'd like to finish the track up this week and I'm at my wit's end with it

Pretty nice. Kinda a John Meyer feel. I'd back off on the reverb on the guitars a bit - particularly the rhythm. Pleasant listen.

    Final with Video.....

Not my cup of tea at all, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, despite more compression than I'd like, everything is clear and distinct. Good harmony. Good mix.

    Down On My Luck

The song and the performance are impeccable. Kudos. I'm not quite sure about the mix though. The drums are a bit odd, but they do grow on you after a bit. Guitars and vocals are both very nice, but they may be competing with each other a little. Might want to eq them a bit. All in all...

    Solaris song/mix/Video thoughts

Gotta agree. Two minutes in and nothing is happening. The sounds are all good, but they're like a bed - and 2 minutes is pretty long to listen to a bed. And the vocals are nice once they arrive. All in all a very nice listen. Mix is good. Gotta chop that intro though - a lot. Maybe the...

    77 Minutes in Uvalde

Nice. Mix-wise could stand a little less in the highs.
