Can the Mytek Stereo 96 unit be used as two "unlinked" individual channels feeding two different mono tracks...or does it always work as a stereo unit? I'm wondering if I can use it as my main AD converter. I don't see a "link" switch like on the Lucid AD9624.
I just upgraded last night as well and the manual does a good job of explaining this. Did you read it? Check the index under "Inputs". In fact....I remember the page number....44.
I know that Cubase SX 2.0 projects can be imported into Nuendo, but can the inverse be done? I'm mixing a project that was recorded in Cubase SX 2.0 and the studio will import into Nuendo for mixdown. We may add some tracks as well and I would like to be able to import those Nuendo projects...
By the way......can anyone give me an idea of the difference in sounds quality between the Telefunken 6DJ8 and the Telefunken 6922? They are both new old stock (NOS). I realize that this is very much a subjective thing, but I need a ballpark idea of what these tubes are about.
I'm hoping...
I sent an email to RODE asking about which tubes I could use in my NTK. Nothing's wrong with the current tube, but I read recently about possible improvements in the sound quaility by trying dofferent tubes, so I asked the manufacturer about it. Below is the reponse I received. I thought some...
FYI
Just to let you know....I've had a little time with these now and they are fantastic. I've increased the quality of my mixes 10 fold because I'm hearing more accurately what's been recording. I think I've never really heard what I was recording/mixing until I started using these monitors...
Does anyone know how I would setup and outboard piece of gear like this to work with Cubase?
Isn't it now possible to use outboard gear with Cubase SX3?
...maybe I should have posted this in the Cubase forum....I have a problem with double posting though. I bugs the shit out of me when other...
I'll give them a listen over the next few days and post my thoughts a little later if anyone's interested.
First thing...they are much bigger than I thought they'd be....and they're heavy sumsabitches.
By the way, for you folks in mainland Europe, I know a distributor in Germany that might...
Here's one of my songs where a Shure SM-7 was used to record my vocal tracks (and guitar cab)...it's sort of a screamer. No EQ...no effects on the main vocal tracks, but I did double track them (which I really wish I had not done now). Also the bassist is rapping a bit at the end (add a little...
I actually saw Spinal Tap live in Atlanta, GA in the early 90's on the Break like the Wind tour....seriously. They rawked!! They all played their own instruments...and their drummer spontaneously combusted at the end of the show.
...well, I'm definitely going with the black CD's for my next project...I've reeaaaallly been trying to get that "foot-tappity-ness" sound in my mixes and I think the black CD's may do the trick.

They look really similar.
This is a really interesting article about black CDs and audio duplication that I came across while looking for a CD replication company. I thought I'd pass it along because I've never heard any of this before….
The guy is obviously borderline obsessive compulsive (no offense Gary). I DID...
