a lot of ignorant people underestimate how much it cost to pack and ship. the other day i had a customer bring in a tv that he sold on ebay. the ebay shipping calculator said he should charge 60 bucks for packing and shipping. his total was actually over 200 dollars

if i pack it, it will not break no matter what. guaranteed fully insured. online stores may offer free shipping but they have special contracts with ups and you can't buy oktavas anywhere except the soundroom and guitar center. maybe i can lower it to 200 if no one bids but i'm holding out...

1 mic is 100 the other is 80. 25 for the shockmount. 20 for the pop filter, 40 dollars worth of cables. and the ups store is mad expensive, i know cause i work there.

a shure sm58 perhaps. it costs $100. you might need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter a cable and a mic stand is extra money.

i did the search thing on this board and i couldn't come up with a direct answer to my question. as i told you before i just got an oktava 319 and i thought about selling it. i just bought a presonus tubepre and i'm keeping it and i'm keeping the mic. i can get pretty goood results now...

i'm not keeping it. it doesn't make that much of a difference and its clostraphobic and dusty. i'm just going to stick to producing for now i don't even write lyrics.

it's mostly about keeping background noise from the furnace/central air away from the mic and out of my mixes.

i'm thinking of hanging thick blankets from the ceiling. that would be the least expensive option. do i have to surround the mic 360 degrees? or can i get away with surrounding it on 2-3 sides?

the behringer mixer is fine. eventually i'll sell it and get one with more inputs. that's not the problem. it's the isolation mostly i guess.
