Surely someone on here has some experience with lucid converters, they were a pretty popular company, was my lucid a waste of 350 bucks or is it a good deal?

Gobo in front of you, treated. Pop filter is a must. A good mic and a good preamp go along way too.

Use one of the vocal presets, don't use an amp model for vocals, especially if you want clean. Or build your own chain, I would suggest a chain like this, noise gate-compressor-preamp(neve sim)-light reverb, done. That should work pretty nicely for clean vocals.

Just get you a cheap usb interface for what you are doing, ART makes a pretty cheap preamp/usb interface. I liked the Line6 UX2 I use to have, the ux1 is pretty cheap, you could get one used for probably around 50 bucks.

I forgot to mention, I buried the d6 into the kick drum about 4 inches from the batter head, that is probably why I didn't get as much bassy push out of it, I think that I will have to double mic it the next time, I got a few more kick drum mics. Or even build a sub kick for that.

I have 16 channels da I can use, I just wasn't sure if it would be worth the price. It sounds as if you could use about any mixer with the necessary I/o count for summing though correct? Like if I had an Allen and Heath mixer with 16 line in's and outs I could use it for summing?
